f32jhnjk33jj··on TSMC hikes chip prices up to 20% amid supply shortage
I don't know a single person who uses bitcoins or a single store that accepts them... and it's very risky for companies due to it's extreme volatility (the price may increase/decrease by hundreds percent within days or weeks)
f32jhnjk33jj··on UK to overhaul privacy rules in post-Brexit departure from GDPR
Cookie popups is another reason to hate the EU. The block is called a bureaucratic monster for a reason.

Thank you cryptominers for everything you did for the mankind, especially huge GPU prices and insane air pollution caused by your mining farms.
f32jhnjk33jj··on Old iPhones become faster if you change the region to France
and don't forget missing USB-C connector! I can charge all my 15 devices in a travel via a single cable, but Apple users have to carry another charger (or adapter) just for smartphone...
f32jhnjk33jj··on Old iPhones become faster if you change the region to France
Why is Apple so far behind the competitors regarding hardware? They still have huge notch on the top, but competitors have invisible cameras behind display (Xiaomi Mi Mix 4). No fingerprint behind the screen like competitors. No foldable body frame. The only thing Apple do better than competitors is CPUs / SoCs.
f32jhnjk33jj··on Sputnik V: fraudulent clinical trial data
Putin is a pathological liar. He cannot imagine a life without lying.
f32jhnjk33jj··on The reason you’re not more productive at work? It’s not boredom, it’s bad UX
"9 women cannot make a baby in a month" is the correct version
f32jhnjk33jj··on Job-hopping heats up: 65% of U.S. workers are looking for a new job
Zurich is not Germany. It's Switzerland, a different country. And many Germans move to Switzerland, because salaries there are higher and taxes are ~2 times lower.
f32jhnjk33jj··on Job-hopping heats up: 65% of U.S. workers are looking for a new job
Americans got it right. Germans are, on the other hand, happy to work for a penny as you can see from the numbers below:

Average salary in San-Francisco for developers: $175.036

Average salary in Germany for developers: 61.176 Euro

That's 2.5 times more than in Germany. Please also note that many products like gas, electricity, laptops, smartphones are cheaper in the US, despite much higher salaries.

f32jhnjk33jj··on Performance Improvements in .NET 6
In the next C# version, you don't need to use brackets for namespaces anymore. Just write

namespace Honlsoft;

and that's it.

f32jhnjk33jj··on First Beta for Krita 5.0 released
What is the best free alternative to Paint.NET for web developers? I tried GIMP some time ago, but it's interface looked very outdated / unpolished (at least on windows).
f32jhnjk33jj··on T-Mobile: Breach Exposed SSN/DOB of 40M+ People
Vodafone is much worse than T-Mobile. In Germany they forge customer signatures and edit voice call records to create "fake" contracts and extract money from you. In my case I have to pay 120 Euro per month, even if the flat rate internet connection I have should only costs 80 Euro.

f32jhnjk33jj··on Senators introduce bipartisan antitrust bill to promote app store competition
But only iPhone send your pictures automatically to the police without your consent, just because some unreliable Apple-AI suggest it *could be* something illegal...
f32jhnjk33jj··on Coding Is a Trap. Get Out
In big German cities, an average developer only makes 20% more than an average employee. In the last city where I lived in Germany:

Average salary for developers: 2950 euro per month after tax

Average across all jobs: 2450 euro per month after tax

Don't forget, unlike other jobs, developers have to waste their evenings, weekends and vacations to learn new technologies and you will not even be paid fair for that sacrifice.

f32jhnjk33jj··on New Laptop: Thinkpad P14s
But if someone need to type on your keyboard, then they will have problems and this workaround only works with Laptops. You cannot swap keys on a standalone Lenovo keyboard.
f32jhnjk33jj··on New Laptop: Thinkpad P14s
Good laptop, but with a few small drawbacks:

- No vapor chamber cooling, just regular heat pipes

- Monitor has thick borders

- Not 16:10

- Fn/Ctrl are swapped (all thinkpad laptops)

- Thinkpad's fingerprint readers never worked reliably to me

- I personally prefer USB-C network adapter instead of the bulky RJ45

- 720p camera, but most of laptops have a bad web cam...

- I assume it will have very average speakers. Usually Lenovo puts a "DOLBY SOUND" label on laptops with improved sound quality.

f32jhnjk33jj··on New Laptop: Thinkpad P14s
OK, I saw this page

https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/coming-soon/P14s-AMD-G2/p/22WSP...

and I thought, it is not possible to buy it yet.

How did you buy it if the website shows a message that it is not available yet?
f32jhnjk33jj··on The California computer ban isn't what it appears to be
German and Californian government should cooperate. They have so much in common and they both love to introduce nonsense laws.
f32jhnjk33jj··on The dark side of entrepreneurship
Entrepreneurship is especially bad in Europe. Before you deliver your first MVP, the bureaucracy will kill your startup. Each year the situation is getting worse and worse. This year they will introduce 'upload filter law' and couple of other startup-killing laws are already on their way.
f32jhnjk33jj··on Firefox lost 50M users since 2019
Guys, what do you think about switching Firefox to WebKit or Blink engine? This will greatly cut the development costs and will make Firefox almost 100% compatible to Chrome. FF is the only major browser with an engine different from Webkit/Blink.
f32jhnjk33jj··on Firefox lost 50M users since 2019
I switched to Firefox on Android, because I can use uBlock Origin (adblocker) extension with it and stop watching nonsense ads. It's also good for battery life and protect against some malware. Chrome on Mobile, on the other hand, doesn't allow extensions.
f32jhnjk33jj··on Write tests. Not too many. Mostly integration
By using microservices, most companies will face even more problems than they did before with their monoliths.
