exprx··on Proposed JavaScript Standard Style
Different tab widths are a non-issue. Sure, the maximum character per line only works for a set tab width, but I take that “problem” over the rigidity (and unsuitability) of spaces as indentation.
exprx··on New body armour promises to transform fighting sports
The weight is spread around the body, though. But yes, certainly it will affect featherweights.

... but only if they realize to use it.

Not to say that I'd approve this farce.

exprx··on Moving Beyond the OOP Obsession
A value with a type is an object?

What else do we need? “Methods”? Why?

I very strongly support the proposed Unified call syntax.

exprx··on Moving Beyond the OOP Obsession
A struct is an object. Even a plain integer is an object, considering the referred article was talking about C++.

(Yes, you cannot inherit all kinds of objects – but you definitely can inherit any kind of struct, POD or not.)

>Now here's what this would look like in C++ without using objects:

    mixer_set_volume(m, 0.8);
What is m, if not an object?

Haven't you seen a single of these “Android Linux” tablets in the last five years or so?
exprx··on iPhone SE
>Yet when front-facing cameras came out, EVERYONE jumped on that feature, now your phone is dead in the water without it.

When do you think front-facing cameras came out?

The answer is, they were rather common in (non-touch) smartphones outside the U.S. before the first iPhone was even rumoured of, yet Apple only introduced one in the 4th generation of their phones.

exprx··on In defense of Unix
The mentioned blog post is horribly ignorant, and lacks almost any valid points.

find, in particular, very much has a fine UI, and I dare you to process, and not just list, the files with cmd.

exprx··on DuckDuckGo ES6 Cheatsheet
In this particular case, I'd write

    var el = $("<a href=/ class=link>Link</a>");
exprx··on Maybe: run a command, see what it does to your files without actually doing it

>Torvalds in from the Swedish minority in Finland

Torvalds is from the Swedish-speaking minority in Finland.

exprx··on Show HN: Python to C++14 transpiler
Well, you could always begin another scope with each assignment.

    auto var = // this type can't be inferred because it's not used
    {
      auto var = 2;
    }
I'm too exhausted to think why this may not be applicable.
exprx··on Windows game developer about porting to and using OS X
So much explained disagreement.. not?
exprx··on Windows game developer about porting to and using OS X
Nothing on the post above is even remotely accurate.
exprx··on Bitcoin Surges Past $400
I sense unwarranted criticism here – it's not like the ups and downs of BitCoin are going to affect a major economy any time soon (or ever).

It's more a good thing there's this new game speculators can play; even if someone games the system, it isn't going to affect anything of value (e.g. a company producing something of value).

It's not like BitCoin is ever going to be a major currency, or a real currency, really. The distribution of it is even more skewed, and artificially so, than that of any real currency. (And no, it isn't analogous to early investors in a business.)

exprx··on EverythingMe closes down despite raising $37.5M
How do you spend tens of millions of dollars on creating and launching a launcher?

Perhaps they did something else as well, I don't know; I hope they were transparent on their spending – and that the sources are audited.

exprx··on The End of Software Versions
It certainly hasn't killed web browser versions yet, and they most definitely matter when it comes to bugs in web apps (or pages).
