exim··on Ask HN: Have you ever been sued by your startup?
Thanks for the kind words.

This was actually a first reaction for such an unfair situation one can fall no matter in how "civilized" or "developed" country he/she lives.

So after the first angriness goes away, one starts thinking rationally...

exim··on Ask HN: Have you ever been sued by your startup?
Did you consider kicking his ass? Seriously.
exim··on JSLinux rewritten to be human readable, deobfuscated and annotated
Pardon my ignorance, but besides being a quite tedious task to write an emulator, what are genius or other similar aspects of it?

I mean, AFAIK you just need to closely follow the SPECS.

exim··on I Can't Find a Single Productive Use For My Tablet
Agree. Going to toilet without my kindle dx, I consider as wasting of time.
exim··on Did porn warp me forever?
Yes, but my comparison was about paper/picture/magazine materials vs real body.
exim··on Did porn warp me forever?
Regarding differences in easy accessibility of "materials" for different orientation persons, one interesting thing worth mentioning - unlike heterosexuals, homosexuals carry this "material" all the time with them - their body...
exim··on Guy Kawasaki - Four free books
It is amazing how people can produce such an amount of content with absolutely no value at all.
exim··on PayMill, Stripe clone, rolls out silently across Europe
Thanks. Any plans to add Georgia?
exim··on PayMill, Stripe clone, rolls out silently across Europe
Where can I see the list of supported countries?
exim··on Yesod (Haskell) lead dev picked up by FPComplete
Not sure I understand. Is he going to provide some kind of commercial support for the companies willing to use Yesod? or maybe he is going to work on, as we call it here - yet another CRUD apps (but in Haskell/Yesod) for various clients?
exim··on Steve Yegge: Notes from the Mystery Machine Bus
He should invest more time in writing, to make his posts bit shorter.
exim··on Online Course: Programming Languages
I'd personally prefer a language with static typing and ADT support, like Haskell or any ML-like one. But Racket (PLT Scheme) would be my second choice - and it is quite popular in overseas (USA) PL research circles. Also, I find it one of the most elegant lisp dialects out there.
exim··on Online Course: Programming Languages
Please change the level of recognition names. Especially the highest one - NINJA - sounds really `Script kiddie`-ish...
exim··on Xamarin raises $12M to help you make better apps faster
What I meant is actually a different business model, which can co-exist with the current one.

E.g.: "Pay only after you earn your first 100$" but along with "NO WARRANTY" and "no support" and maybe "without IDE, only cmd line tools and SDK" but that would be an extreme - still, better than nothing.

I think this will _tremendously_ boost your user base.

All in all, you will cover a new target market with retaining the existing market.

Anyway, thanks for the great product!

EDIT: the market you actually will loose (in "no support" users) - are the users who didn't succeed. Not sure if you can track the numbers, that would help to determine if this business model will be positive for you.

I'd really appreciate better pricing (e.g. risk free, pay after you succeed, etc..), at least for Android platform.
exim··on Ask HN: I'm desperate to stay in Denmark. Anyone need a great web/ios dev?
I didn't know cartoon industry had so many lobbyists in Danish government :)
exim··on Ask HN: I'm desperate to stay in Denmark. Anyone need a great web/ios dev?
Why don't you start a PhD job? e.g. at http://www.itu.dk/
exim··on Ask HN: I'm desperate to stay in Denmark. Anyone need a great web/ios dev?
I remember Danmark had issues with skilled human resource leakage, (partly) because of high taxes. So maybe they enhanced the immigration laws a bit, for easy "importing" skilled workforce.
exim··on Ask HN: I'm desperate to stay in Denmark. Anyone need a great web/ios dev?
Or fake at least.

How did you implement that particular feature? (Notify when someone searches you)
exim··on Hackers expose 453,000 credentials allegedly taken from Yahoo service
Please stop calling those persons Hackers... They are just parasites.
exim··on Yahoo Voices Hacked, Usernames and Passwords Posted Online.
I can understand the joy feeling for someone to hack something, but what's the point of posting people's passwords online?
exim··on Gccgo in GCC 4.7.1
But it ended up as an alternative to Python, of course language-wise. Library-wise, it is still far far away.
exim··on Why is Clojure so slow?
On the other hand, those languages do not have a pretension of being fast.
exim··on Kid Automates Work, Is Fired, Hired Back, Automates Business
He was paid by the company to enter the data. The company owns only the data, not the mechanics (fingers, software, etc..).
exim··on Rejection Letters for a faculty position
I really liked one from ETH, Zurich. It was a personal letter (i.e. not generated) mentioning that for the particular job they found another person, whose skills were more appropriate at the moment. And the sender asked me to keep an eye for further openings.
exim··on Sublime Text 2.0 Released
Even if I exactly know what to type and I can type fast, I still prefer to achieve same with 3 keystrokes rather than typing full 20-30 symbols.
exim··on Sublime Text 2.0 Released
I think, in these days, it is not too much to ask for the intelligent completion, e.g. when you type dot or arrow, to get corresponding members of class/struct - the information is just there and the editor has enough power to parse it...

Same goes for a very simple word completion - when the editor already encountered the word in the previous line.

These are just _very_ basic things.

Regarding the Acme text editor - any users of it here, on HN? I'm really interested to hear some arguments from Acme or Sam userbase - what do you find useful in these editors?

I vaguely remember the reply on Acme's mailing list, that it is a text editor, not a rainbow, when someone asked about syntax highlighting feature :)

exim··on I introduced my 5yo and 2yo to startx and xmonad. They’re delighted.
Yup. But then, nobody would post that story on HN :)
