exhumet··on Powerless F1 drivers frustrated by Bahrain F1 software glitch
isnt the regen neutered due to a veto from the bigger teams with the fear of audi. since they have well ran and tested r&d on regen for wec and some of the other E series they run?
exhumet··on Powerless F1 drivers frustrated by Bahrain F1 software glitch
yeah im pretty big into the eco side of things too and id much rather the cars return to just pure gas or as minimal of a hybrid systems as possible ( i just want small cars again lol) sports racing is the least of my concern in terms of fuel. hell the biggest polluter with racing like this probably comes down to the travel needs. plus the 2026 season is the first season to run on non-crude based fuels.
exhumet··on PS5 Relapse Exploit
yeah i felt so dumb with how constantly bad in home streaming was for me with latency and i just could not pinpoint the issue until one day i swapped my tv into gamemode and boom..... felt like i was playing on my desktop
exhumet··on Climate change is strengthening El Niño, coral records suggest
which is also totally fine, like unless you are running for president what can YOU as a single person do besides trying to do the right thing and living with the outcome of whatever whims of someone in charge will do.
exhumet··on 11,000-year-old sculpture of man riding a leopard found in Turkey
and imo ive also thought the same thing, but then it does still come down to the amount of people and time it would take to go over those rough translations and pull the wanted info out of it. manpower is lacking in a lot of those fields
exhumet··on 11,000-year-old sculpture of man riding a leopard found in Turkey
they have found tally markers on bones and other objects like that, so yeah you would be correct, i guess it really comes down to what "writing" is i guess?

exhumet··on We Tracked a Shipment of Rare Books. It Ended at an Amazon AI Training Facility
i would assume that would come into play if they were uploading scans of the books? there must be some gray area where training like this doesnt apply to that. or ya know, just do it and face the consequences later because you already have the data and know that ai obsessed government will just shrug their shoulders.
exhumet··on Anthropic's 'watermark' text adulteration in Claude is a perversion of writing
a lot of cameras do have an in camera hardware based cryptographic signing (i think it runs off its own chip on them?) but any modifications to the image immediately break that. so for stuff like journalism etc where youd hopefully have a lot of settings dialed in on camera for quick turn around would keep that fingerprint intact.
exhumet··on Controversial creators are benefiting from monetization programs run by Meta
yeah its nuts. ive hard restricted any form of social media to 15 minutes a day combined for the remaining ones i have. its been extremely healthy tbh. ive felt much better in the almost two years ive been doing it!

and i get it! the zombified rapid button pressing over and over. when i went to japan we were stoked to go check out a pachinko hall and we walked in and it was overstimulation city lol. walking in through the front door directly out through the back door haha.

exhumet··on Facebook is paying controversial creators to produce rage-bait content
yup and thats exactly what i discovered. id rather not use it and also not lose any additional respect for people i used to like or have good memories with lol
exhumet··on Facebook is paying controversial creators to produce rage-bait content
at the very least, insta is a semi cleaner and its the content itself thats abrasive... for now... thats the only other thing i use purely to keep up with family and i do photography so its somewhere to share some pics with family and friends.once you spend an entire night flagging everything you dont wanna see it becomes pretty clean. and then i put a 15 min timer on top of it. so it barely gets used but its semi well-tailored lol
exhumet··on Controversial creators are benefiting from monetization programs run by Meta
thats exactly what i was telling my wife, a casino is way more accurate than what i said. i was like it felt like signing on to Temu with all of the shit all over the place
exhumet··on Bluesky's active user base is shrinking as its focus expands beyond the app
yeah im pretty fucking hard left wing, i would still have probably used twitter in this current day if it hadn't just become a total cesspool. i used bluesky because my friends moved there and tbh the custom feeds are a great feature. could not care about the owners political leanings as long as they are not being actively and outwardly malicious... pretty much most of my social media usage went down the hill when they just became outrage/outwardly racist/ai infested cesspits. i neeeeeed something more than my small local groups to keep up with my hobbies so i use reddit. but in 2025 i deleted my account and made a new one from scratch that was highly tailored and streamlined vs my 2011 account that had soooooooooooooooo many shitty subs still subbed.

i recently downloaded it again after nearly a decade to use marketplace to buy a bike for my wife. Got the bike and deleted the app. but my god opening it up was hell. the interface on mobile is just....stressful. super cluttered, shit all over the place with notifications and things to see. first post i saw on there was someone i used to be friends with but havent thought about in years just blatently reposting ACTUAL racist shit... bought a bike in one day and deleted the app once again. horrible experience aside from the nice old dude who sold me the bike lol

exhumet··on Could psilocybin be the key to treating anorexia?
thats awesome, also on the east coast but northeast so nothing of note besides the nice fall weather to help cause a flush if they just so happen to get the process started this year... or something, not like id know
exhumet··on Could psilocybin be the key to treating anorexia?
upside is that in most states you can just go buy the spores and they just so happen to conveniently have spawn bags right nearby. BUT DONT EVER COMBINE THE TWO AND WAIT A FEW MONTHS

woahhhhhh i had no clue about book orbit. i found calibre stuff to be a bit jank at times. This is super cool. gonna toss an instance on my server tonight
exhumet··on More Tailscale tricks for your jailbroken Kindle
agreed, obviously reading a book itself is the simplest way to read a book. but the simplest way to carry around an entire library is technology. so id like to remove the fiddling or needing to interact with said technology as a barrier to me turning off my brain from life to get sucked into a book
exhumet··on Does creatine make you smarter?

exhumet··on Sealed tomb filled with paintings and inscriptions discovered in Egypt
ive been to a few dolmen and places like those, a lot of them were already desecrated thousands of years ago and then desecrated again 2000 years ago etc. id much rather have those bones and artifacts dug up and placed somewhere they wont be destroyed and the symbolism of the structure can still remain to be appreciated.

but often the fantasy does help shape your reality and identity. an author finding a way to vocalize and make a concept or feeling tangible like its coming out of the mouth of someone that you can respect or despise with such strong emotion is extremely powerful. and sure you can get that from nonfiction (which i also do love some of the driest science texts lol) but there is something amazing about seeing how something could play out, or how it would be to experience this reality. maybe you just havent found what clicks for you yet or what perfectly speaks to you and maybe you never will, but its not worth writing it ALL off. for me at least it's the emotional resonance you can find with fiction that makes it all the more worth it. Do i agree with Char Aznable no, do i agree with Amuro Ray? yes. do i find merit and incompatibilities in both of their ideologies? yes. has it helped me see the kind of world that the creator wishes to envision and wants to make us question for ourselves? yes. its the connection. i just love it.

and dont write off comics either, there is some genuine phenomenally emotional works in that medium.
