Discord will forever be behind Slack in usability as long as it doesn’t have threads. Nothing quite like having three different conversations going on at once in the same channel.
Is it? Don't you just need an acquaintance on the inside? I got invited by someone I worked with once upon a time shortly after installing the app just to see what all the fuzz was about.
> It's a huge upgrade from the past when there was absolutely no mobile optimization.
It’s not. They went in trying to make a mobile first experience, and somehow made it worse than a desktop first experience browsed on mobile. Base reddit works fine on mobile. The redesign is absolutely trash, bloated, slow and ugly.
Isn’t doping in cycling mostly blood doping, ie. replacing «old» blood with blood collected prior to a competition? I doubt that has any real effect on your body beyond the immediate effect of the new blood binding oxygen better than the old blood.
Conditionals are so simple it’s basically the first thing anyone learns. Anyone can understand the first approach. The latter requires knowledge that is specific to lower level languages, concepts that are certainly not taught universally.
The latter approach is definitely not the easiest to understand. It is, however, what Linus considers «good taste in coding.»
I fucking hate it. The redesign is actively harmful to the quality of subreddits. It makes the subscribers the ones who dictate the content, not the community members. The vast majority of subs don’t participate in any meaningful way, they just upvote the funny picture in their feed, haha, while the people who frequent the subreddit and dictated most of the content prior to the redesign are completely disenfrachised. I’ve seen a bunch of subreddits go down the shitter because low effort memes and blog posts-like pictures conquered the front page after the redesign.
Youtube streaming is in many ways bigger than twitch. It has way more concurrent viewers, and the top channels are usually bigger. But there’s no discoverability. You can’t really move there or start there to build an audience.
That’s literally only because Amazon worked with them to introduce the needed features so they could launch Luna. Controller support was shoddy before iOS14, for example, so the web app approach wasn’t viable for xCloud or Stadia.
Which is completely irrelevant in many cases. Depression can be caused by serotonin deficiencies, and once you’ve got depressed (pun intended) values, it’s difficult to return to baseline without medical support.
I was replying to a comment whose parent said anything sent would end up as soup. The joke might’ve been bad, but it certainly is on the reader for not seeing that obvious connection.
Definitely. I started deopping breakfast. At first it was hell. But you get used to it. Noe I’m down to one meal a day. It’s very convenient, and my energy levels aren’t affected by food intake.
Assuming you take ~4 seconds from wanting to compile til you have your answer, that’s 60 minutes a day for a thousand compiles. An hour. Doesn’t seem very efficient to me.
Commit messages cover the entirety of the change, and only exist in the context of the commit it is attached to. A comment is without exception outdated by the next commit, unless it is rewritten for that commit.
I don’t see how this is a problem. I see that the combinatorial explosion exists, but that isn’t an actual problem. The entire point of microservices is independent deploys, meaning you literally only have two permutations per deploy, new and old. If you think deploying 10 services at once is feasible, you don’t understand the appral of microservices, and should never have opted for them in the first place.
