europa··on Show HN: My first iPhone app - Family Matters (using Parse)
Good luck abeymm. Nice to see a reference to Malayalam here
europa··on Is it better to learn JavaScript or Python as a first language?
I think Both. You almost always need a back-end for the javascripts apps you make. That back-end can be Python.
europa··on The SendHub API: Heroku for Twilio
More than API for an API, to me, this service sounds very valuable for businesses for their SMS communications/marketing needs.
europa··on Ask HN: What backup strategy do you use for your websites and databases?
I use duplicity. http://duplicity.nongnu.org/
europa··on What are the missing features in App Engine?
Thanks. I stand corrected.
europa··on What are the missing features in App Engine?
Oauth or Authsub for appengine operations.

For example I want to deploy an app on appengine for a user without asking him his userid and a password.

Use case: User comes to a site. Search for available applications to install. Click install; give permission, application installed to his appengine account.

europa··on For Indian SaaS startups, alternative to Paypal for recurring payments?
Have you checked www.ccavenue.com/ ?
europa··on Ask HN: Redesign after HN critique (instant "coming soon" pages app)
It is not very costly if you compare it with the likes of http://unbounce.com (they charge 25/month, they have lot of other features , but still this is less expensive). Addition of a free plan with cap on number of monthly visits could be a nice option and might increase signups and later conversion to paid plans.
europa··on Amazon Announces Free Monitoring for Amazon EC2 Instances
I agree with you, it very expensive for small startups not taken off yet. For example Cloudkicks charges $99/month for their entry level offering. May be their target customers are startups/companies which are taken off (profitable, VC funded). Also as suggested by other commenter (troels) , monitoring may be not essential for all startups at the early stage.

What will be the impact of this on third party monitoring apps like CloudKick.?May be they have to provide more value addition on other areas of cloud computing like custom building of servers , automating sys-admin etc.
europa··on Ask HN: How did everyone do with Launch an App Month?
It will be automated with a GUI to customize the server build, firewall rules and software installations etc.
europa··on Ask HN: How did everyone do with Launch an App Month?
I second the subscription idea. Probably you could charge like $5(or more) per month with a minimum commitment of 6 months.
europa··on Ask HN: How did everyone do with Launch an App Month?
As of now, this is what exactly I am planning, One-time fee for setting up the server, hardening for security, installing/configuring software etc. I think the price should have a bearing on the complexity of the setup.
europa··on Ask HN: How did everyone do with Launch an App Month?
Thanks for showing interest in this. I'll definitely post my launch here. Also notify you if you have signed up at my landing page
europa··on Ask HN: How did everyone do with Launch an App Month?
I am still working on mine. It'll take a few more weeks before the MVP ready to be launched. I have my landing page up at http://www.serverfabu.com/

The inspiration for this project came from the feedback I've received for my ASK HN http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=1815344

europa··on Starting your first company
I think it is worth coding the working mvp , even though you know that it is going to be re-done if you take off. This will help one to demonstrate his seriousness and something visual to show when he/she pitches to developer/co-founder instead of pitching a random idea.
europa··on Ask HN: Will you or anyone use this service?
Of course the installation /setup of software/application like Wordpress,Joomla,Drupal etc. are in my list

Sorry for my ignorance, can you or someone tell me what you mean by 'whitelabel'

Thanks for sharing the link tsycho
europa··on Ask HN: Will you or anyone use this service?
1. Yes this something currently trying to figure out,the best way to deliver the final server to the customer. It is pretty straight forward on amazon but rackspce it not seems to be the case.

2. Definitely. The listed ones are the one I have experience on. 3.You are right about Windows setup. aws and rack space offers windows servers. I have to play with Windows setup though before I offer it. 4.I'll keep the server maintenance part of the service in mind. Thanks.

europa··on Ask HN: Will you or anyone use this service?
I promise I'll have my web site up this weekend. Hope I can push you over the fence with that.
europa··on Ask HN: Will you or anyone use this service?
I did signup for affiliate program with Racksapce. I had a brief chat with a customer support agent but he is not aware of anything to deliver my custom build machine image to other customers. May be I have to talk to someone else at Rackspace.
europa··on Ask HN: Will you or anyone use this service?
I think , the value addition will be customization and time saving. As you suggested the StackScripts can build/install common things, what if you want something else ie. a different version of software etc. Thanks for the feedback. Edit: Grammar
europa··on Ask HN: Will you or anyone use this service?
You are right, my target audience are developer and invariably for most of them it is trivial to build their own servers. But still it required some time to be spend on these tasks which can be utilized for something else more valuable for his /her business. And 'trust' that's what exactly I want to harvest from my customers for the success of my service.

You suggestion of more advanced/complicated setup (Nutch/Hadoop et) is well taken. Thanks

Edit:Spelling

europa··on Ask HN: Should I take this Google job offer?
Once you have an H1 b , transferring that to a different company is not that difficult.
