Rinse and repeat.
If you have a "known" or "expected" cycle, people can rely on that.
I've seen my car's infotainment fail and restart, but i didn't thinking what is handling it underneath.
is there a chance that QNX has a podman-type application to run containers?
Pressure is being exerted from above, you bend (lax enforcement) and bounce back (suggest to higher ups better policies) when the time is appropriate.
It's like a LTR (Long term release) iPhone.
I know there are Apple Engineers lurking here, start the whisper campaign!
1. Apple had to post a link that said Epic's product could be purchased at elsewhere 2. Google has to do a lot more. Like actual anti-trust punishment things
IMHO, these two should be both punished because the duopoly is pretty self-evident.
From what i could grep (and it's dumb): The problem lies in the structures of both monopolists. Apple has never ever let any one else make smartphones, and it's walled garden is completed, so the court can't compel it to open up and let others (like epic) play. So a link is all they have to do. Android smartphones do allow other app stores, but Google makes it hard to install them, highly discourage them, and google pays developers to not release on other app stores. So google has an "open" market but behaves like a monopoly. So the judge is trying to "level" the market and punish google for acting like a monopolist.
I think apple should get the same treatment, but how?
You have a finite amount of energy in a day and learning takes a lot of energy. It's why a kid's job is the learn.
You could try front running the learning, but it will impact your energy levels at work. It still takes a monumental amounts of discipline, but you may have the energy to make it work.
The hygiene hypothesis does not suggest that having more infections during childhood would be an overall benefit
I learned that as you get older, if you don't use it, you lose it.
And if China doesn't like it, it can reinvent the wheel. Here is the fun part. I think China can absolutely do so in a technical sense. But I know the people absolutely won't do it, because they don't want it/aren't incentivized to do it.
First, Taiwan sees HK and knows what's up. You don't sleep next to an elephant all your life and not know when they will roll over.
Second, even if Taiwan didn't rig for sabotage AND (big AND) just straight up surrendered (it won't); People will slowly leave, turn over will happen, machines will age out, the right investments will not be made, etc. Taiwan may not shatter (immediately), but it will rust and dull. Look at HK and I believe that is the BEST case scenario for the China.
For Taiwan, semi-conductors represent a poison pill/porcupine defense. But that is all that is, defense/poison. It won't stop China if the leaders decide that it would just eat the consequences. I hope Taiwan can find a creative solution to their woes.
For China, they have to realize they are on a timer. They can't keep "turning off money machines", or "crushing jewels". At some point they are going to run out of "resources" to extract and I hope they figure out how to work with countries in their region instead of antagonizing them. Why? because 1+ billion people will suffer if they don't figure it out.
Your local cops don't report to the president.
The RCMP don't have jurisdiction in Ottawa. You said it yourself, it's the federal government and it's not the same as the municipal government.
The Ottawa police, report to the city of Ottawa. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ottawa_Police_Service)
The Ontario police, report to the Province of Ontario (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ontario_Provincial_Police)
The RCMP, reports of the Country of Canada (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_Canadian_Mounted_Police). And the RCMP is "a police service for the whole of Canada to be used in the enforcement of the laws of the Dominion, but at the same time available for the enforcement of law generally in such provinces as may desire to employ its services."
The most important part is the RCMP enforcement in provinces is at the DESIRE of the provinces, in this case The Ontario Provincial Government.
Some Canadians may know the above.
Some people would like you to believe it's close, and they would be wrong. Stalin murdered/tortured people en masse. Trudeau oversaw a government (democratically elected mine you) through a once in a century pandemic.
The convoy of protesters made a point, was allow to make it for sufficient period of time, and was told to go away when a majority of Canadians didn't agree with their stance.
When faced with reality of their unpopular nature and their inability to build a momentum or consensus. They dug in.
At some point, enough is enough. The Pandemic ended, public heath was restore, and none of what the protesters did mattered. None of the protesters continue to be persecuted by the Government of Canada, Ontario, or the City.

I think it's a really innovative villain because generational trauma is real and lots of people have to deal with it. It some times takes more than one generation to leave a vicious cycle.
I keep thinking about the staff in the article. Do they really think their stuff is good? It can't be! it must be some kind of joke.
How did they get a michelin star? it really makes me wonder.
My proposal is to have a company parallel develop processes so we can have competitor after expiry immediately. The competitor can't profit from it, but it can do work at 0 cost.
I suggest that we should give merek the for profit monopoly, but allow for non profit manufacturing. If another organization wants to make the vaccine but not derive profit from the process, let them.
Manufacturing takes time and money to develop. Revenue should pay for those costs. The non-profit gains experience, but no profit. The for-profit gains profit. If the for-profit decides to raise prices too high, there will be a willing and capable competitor waiting in the wings.
The basis of the advice is I have a hard problem --invert problem statement--> new perspective/approach angles.
Your problem is just a little more meta.
But for the individual countries, it's something important. At what time/point/infection rate/daily infection rate is it OK?
The answer is unknown, but looking at other countries opening up is making my non American country idea of opening up more comfortable.
I'm personally not a fan of HP laptops, but i'm looking forward to AMD CPUs on thinkpad and Dell XPS laptops. There is no way there isn't going to be a X1 type laptop with an AMD CPU. Lenovo can't leave that kind of battery performance on the table without losing market share to Dell and HP.
