Oh my got, the floppy disk drive sound, is so accurate, I am in full nostalgia mode. Off on to ebay to buy a real PS2! haha. The pain, the pain of ISA Cards etc. ALthough no physical cuts!
ethical··on LLMs reward expertise
If you go back to Alan Turings' paper, its all about chastisement! honestly, last pages are all about postive and negative (child!) reenforcement - 1950's style (I do not condone ... etc). Simple as that. I conduct high level litgation in the courts, and win because of a good LLM, with a good version of me, keeping it in line! also crypto and cyber sec. Of course, child rearing, and dealing with former spouses is also very useful. The orginal paper 1950 https://tinyurl.com/yuszahpw (punish is mentioned six times). Just say-ing-like. TTFN.

Can't wait to find all the holes in the github code, part-ay time!

There is no need for anything else, on the Internet.
ethical··on DeepSeek and Grok hallucinated the same fictitious OpenBSD manpage quote
Author here. Happy to answer questions about the methodology or the hallucination detection technique. The identical-text convergence between DeepSeek and Grok was the most surprising part of the day — two separate sessions, same fabricated attribution. The empirical gate (re-reading the actual manpage) took about 90 seconds to catch it.
ethical··on My security research PoC was confirming exploits that didn't exist
Author here. Happy to answer questions about the methodology, the broader Are You There? series (16 closed findings in total), or how Apple's security response process works in practice.

What they don't tell you. Everyone in the company will hate you, no one will fix the bugs you find, HR will want to sack you for fun, and the execs are all psycho's. Find a better career, like watching paint dry, or become a monk. Its fun, but not worth it. People are twats.

lol, just ask yourself, where are all my elders? Why are we in a zone of same agers. Ah, ignorance is bliss, your future is elsewhere. Enjoy it whilst it lasts.
ethical··on The Complete History of Lemmings
emmings started life as a simple animation back in August 1989 when DMA Design had just moved into their first office (which only consisted of 2 small rooms), and were beginning a new game called Walker (based on the walker that was used in Blood Money).

The problem? Agile and software. Too many monkeys trying to write a Shakespeare non masterpiece.

What a crock of poo. No security as ever. Fowler now bothers to mention Threat mOdeling. You engineers are rubbish. You are so lazy, and hate security so much. Even in healthcare and medical devices. Security is EASY! but alas, most of you and the management drones do not have a clue.

Agile has killed more people than Waterfall. Terrible. You should all be ashamed of yourselves. Do try harder! lol

Oh yes! this is marvellous! thank you, I just needed a modern web browser and a fix for the HTTPS issues (all the recent ones become unsupported)! I agree on the security front. If you have hygenic browsing habbits, appart from driveby, and phishing, you might be ok. I suppose a crond Clam routine scan may help. I do like Ubuntu, it works really well on the core duo 32bit iMac. But I shall try Lion with these fixes for a while. :-)
ethical··on Slack’s Incident on 2-22-22
1: Yup. 2: Its the legal definition under the GDPR ( a European law, that applies to the US, via Privacy Shield). If you can't get to your data - you get the idea?

TLDR;

Lazy ass humans. Externality - not the victim of your own decisions.

Doesn't anyone learn anything. Youth is not an achievement. Experience is. Having to refer to a book, rather than good change management practices, highlights the madness of agile tosh, and ignorance in terms of capacity and performance management. It's also a data breach incident (denial of service, unavailability), I hope they reported this to the UK ICO, and each countries data protection regulator. Amateurish rubbish.
