etcetcetcetceta··on Surely you have ultra-wideband radios on your bins too?
I fucking wish mate.

I had a really good food disposal bin, it had a novel locking handle that held the lid fast in two places. It was stolen by someone who did not have this bin style, my cameras didn't catch who or when, it could even have been the waste-disposal people for all I know. Regardless when I contacted my local council for replacement they sent a smaller bin; the same everyone else on the street has, one with a long lever lock on top that is completely in effective at preventing foxes from opening it, and distributing the pungent contents across my lawn, driveway, and to various neighbours.

It is just entertainment, and advertising.

>I was at a GP in september, something you do very much for the noise

Why spend all that money when you can goto the local farmyard and watch them shuffle tractors around, if you close your eyes they're indistinguishable

If that was their plan it was incredibly naive, or maybe this is just propaganda to convince suckers that they were trying to do something.

Generally speaking if you want to have some negotiating power you don't make yourself completely dependent on the counterparty.

I never thought of Germany as a nation of morons but maybe it's time to revisit that.

Two in particular, those with a distrust of or ignorance to authority, and those with a paternal expectation of abstinence (with extreme punitive consequences for defiance) and therefore no need for such a vaccine.

The former of course is (uncomfortably) why we have seen a resurgence in smallpox, measles, and scabies.

>Merkel tried to reign in Putin with Gas.

It's rein.

It's also nonsense, Russia had Germany on a leash, you cannot seriously believe Merkel was playing Putin.

American employment licencing needs urgent review, and fewer licenced professions, not more.

etcetcetcetceta··on 1 in 8 cancer cases worldwide are caused by infections, study finds
Suspect this is caused by demographic shift, don't know any people who have even the remotest HPV vaccine hesitation over the past twenty plus years.

Know that it is common among certain demographics though.

etcetcetcetceta··on Does Reddit have an astroturfing problem? What the data suggests
exactly like this yes.
etcetcetcetceta··on Does Reddit have an astroturfing problem? What the data suggests
does it matter?

The quality is so low, of submission, discourse, and people.

I can take only a few minutes of scrolling through naively instructive subcomments "fun fact, water is actually wet", or needless authority seeking "as an AuDHD can confirm", the prepending of "super" to everything "this is super not good", it's like reading pure cliche, adding bots in can only improve it, ideally by precipitating it's demise.

"let's call it...accelerationism"

I’m not sure that’s true, I was able to infer from context what MSC stands for and if you’ve had exposure to American culture then ROTC is quite common.

I live 3000 miles from east Lansing.

>There's a huge spectrum of, let's call it, aggressive speech, ranging from…

Why do you talk like that?

Are you one of the redditors that has been invading this heterodox environment.

>There's a spectrum of aggressive speech, ranging from

Is sufficient and much less cringe.

etcetcetcetceta··on Two-tier encryption in the UK
Interesting isn’t it, because one might say of a convicted murderer “I think they should hang” and while it’s clearly contentious and morally questionable it’s also broadly seen as acceptable speech.

When the context is altered it suddenly becomes worthy of prosecution? I don’t think that’s fair, by holding or stating an opinion you do not induce its outcome.

The Greeks popularized the epithet of Jews being donkey-worshippers there is evidence that it predates this and since Set, Typhon, and Yahweh are in some aspects syncretic, by induction and by appearance I can't see how it isn't a donkey.

I found quitting vaping far harder than quitting smokes, there is near zero friction to vaping.

I quit smoking when it was more socially accepted, it's probably much easier to quit now that a pack costs so much and there are so few places you can do it.

true, especially corporate SecOps, it is theatre, mere tickboxery to defer liability.

Most security professionals I've met in my career border on being non-technical, there are of course security researchers and a whole arcane and academic field that exists well beneath the surface but it is so far removed from the every-day.

Not really, the big three have reached diminishing returns in terms of performance, and exponentially costly training to achieve those meagre gains. Worried their lunch will be eaten they are trying to artificially retard the competition, after all the only barrier is hardware.

This is grotesque.

Everyone is an elitist, when you've enplaned do you assume the pilot is qualified to fly it or do you hope everyone gets a turn? Admittance to the canon is no less a responsibility, would you trust the yoke of human culture to the artless, craftless, and naive?
