erwindegroot··on Ask HN: How do GitHub Copilot and Anthropic Claude compare in cost?
Don't be cheeky. I never said anything about trust. And as a rule you should never completely trust AI and always check the results. That doesn't mean you can't use AI.

Yes, that would be nice. Currently the app is heavily optimized just for the standard Mandelbrot set to squeeze out every last drop of performance. I will have a go at this, but it will be challenging :) Thanks!

Good one! I'll take that into account when I implement animations. Thanks

Mwahahaha!

[thanks :)]

erwindegroot··on Ask HN: How do GitHub Copilot and Anthropic Claude compare in cost?
That's a good suggestion. I actually asked Copilot, but the answer seems to biased. It wouldn't give a clear answer on how the two compare, but it suggested that I use both side by side (copilot for inside the IDE and Claude for 'extra' prompts).

I was hoping someone had some experience with this. I would definitely value the conclusion of an actual human on this :)

erwindegroot··on Show HN: FreeCoffee – Self-hostable donation tool with crypto support
Nice! I'm currently using Ko-Fi for my tip button, which is free for single donations but take a small cut on recurring donations. It looks like your project will take more time to integrate, but may be worth it in the long run (ehm.. if I ever had any donations).
erwindegroot··on Ask HN: Losing motivation to work in the IT field, need advice
What I have learned while coding with AI, is that it can do certain tasks really well, while it really struggles with others. If you consider the complexity and ubiquity (ranging from proprietary/rare to open source/common knowledge) the complex & specific tasks are difficult for AI, while it shines in the opposite simple & common tasks.

I work in high tech and AI actually helped me to let me focus on the core business logic. Maybe instead of switching careers, find a company/team that works on innovative and unique projects?

erwindegroot··on Show HN: Judge Jev – Can you convince Jev of your innocence?
This is a really interesting game. For me the timer ran out too quickly every time. I would actually like to really ponder on the hints to figure it out. Maybe you can introduce an untimed-mode? Also, some hints afterwards of what you could've done better would be really nice. A single message saying you're guilty makes you wonder what you missed.
