erAck··on Life in the age of noise
One of my favorite T-shirts reads "enjoy the silence..."
erAck··on Most Important Penetration Testing Commands Cheat Sheet for Linux Machine
So this is what pen-testers need to know when getting paid to pen-test foo. Do not trust anything that claims security because of being "extensively pen-tested".
erAck··on In Germany, online hate speech has real world consequences
> Parking in the wrong spot also doesn't lead to any of that, but it's still a criminal case.

It is not, it is an administrative offence.

erAck··on Turning web design mockups into code with Deep Learning
I don't think it will be decades. AI and DL are on a very fast pace the last 2-3 years and progress increases exponentially.
erAck··on Ftfy – fix Unicode that's broken in various ways
Nice tool. Just the title is misleading, it's not Unicode that is broken, it's the encoders/decoders..
erAck··on When Does Work Actually Get Done?
They gathered data of office robots that start to work between 8 and 9. Also it's only data of robots forced to use a particular tracking tool. Yes, a work cycle is 2-3-4 hours after having started fresh. Start at 11 and mark something as done at 14.

That sponsored article should be categorized using their book titles advertised at the bottom: "The Content Marketing Handbook", "Hipster Business Models" and "Everything is Bullshit".

erAck··on Flowsheets Visualizations
Geez, please.. do your audience a favor and talk to the audience to have them listen ... and here.. umm.. mumble mumble.. I make.. mumble.. yay.. mumble.. do.. umm.. mumble.. kills the attention span after 55 seconds.

The topic may be interesting, but I quit after not even 2 minutes because of the way it was presented.

erAck··on The Real (and Imaginary) Benefits of Multitasking
As the article mentions, people don't multitask. It's all fast context switching. Up to seven times per second or so. Some are better at it, others are not. One gets one thing done fastest in most detail if one focuses and doesn't switch context, but the brain makes one believe one would be super efficient if one spends time switching context between different things.
erAck··on How to Fix Facebook Before It Fixes Us
Who's nerve did I hit that it got voted down?
erAck··on [dead]
"The author deleted this Medium story". Harassed?
erAck··on Why C++ is still one of the best ways to dive deeper into programming
I agree, computer students should learn C++ and write at least one exam using it, and if it is only to get acquainted with all the possible pitfalls. Extra points for the exam code if it passes Coverity, Valgrind and ASan/UBSan checks and input fuzzing.
erAck··on Show HN: TopOfTheCoins.com – the “MillionDollarHomepage” of the crypto-era
Monetizing completely useless stuff on the back of a block chain.
erAck··on Show HN: TopOfTheCoins.com – the “MillionDollarHomepage” of the crypto-era
I guess that is why I did not buy Ether.
erAck··on How to Fix Facebook Before It Fixes Us
Facebook never fixed me so I didn't have to fix it. No account. Ever.
erAck··on Ask HN: Any good resources for creating a blockchain?

erAck··on Catching the Great American Eclipse at 35,000 Feet
Stupid title indeed. On the other hand it certainly eclipsed America. At least part thereof.
erAck··on Afraid of Makefiles? Don't be
Take a look at the LibreOffice gbuild system, completely written in GNU make "language". And then come back saying you're not afraid of make ;-)

Still, it probably would be much harder, if possible at all (doubted for most), to achieve the same with any other tool mentioned here.
