Confused as to why this is titled for pen-testing. Where's /var/log/btmp and nmap?

So this is what pen-testers need to know when getting paid to pen-test foo. Do not trust anything that claims security because of being "extensively pen-tested".

I see so much overlap between these commands and what's available on Unix systems in general, such as macOS, it'd be nice to see which ones are available cross-platform, and which are Linux specific.

Also, it would be a bit more useful if this article actually explained how these would be useful for penetration testing.
