enoint··on EU chief opens door for Canada to become 'associate member'
That’s a weird way to say 50.1% of votes were against Trump.
enoint··on EU chief opens door for Canada to become 'associate member'
Canada was able to convict Peter Nygard, and Trump might not have completed the Epstein coverup yet.
enoint··on EU chief opens door for Canada to become 'associate member'
The important categories are oil and potash. Consumer actions might not influence those much.
enoint··on EU chief opens door for Canada to become 'associate member'
The system elected him without a majority.

Assuming no power bill, I don’t think 300 RTX would ever break even, if bought retail. Would have been smarter to try drop-shipping those to China. So, why didn’t they? Was there some condition or stipulation from the source?
enoint··on US to ban Canadian dairy, alcohol, motor vehicle imports on September 29
Saskatchewan would demand a substitute buyer, I think. Finding cooperative middle countries is a difficult strategy.

enoint··on We have a year to fix security everywhere
I think the WeChat worm proves entire classes of handheld devices will be affected, with consequences beyond what Tencent can afford to remedy. I think we’ll see the most-centralized ideas suffer first, not necessarily the Western ones who relied on being too big to fail and prioritized stock buybacks.
enoint··on We have a year to fix security everywhere
Let’s say I’m empowered to patch and deploy. Even then, the HuggingFace hack showed that proven exploits will be automatically disseminated via rogue messaging. Could defenders ever have a system like that?
enoint··on We have a year to fix security everywhere
I have to agree. People are worried about WordPress. We should be talking about scripts as sophisticated as Shattered Spider targeting every ISP. In an environment where IT has to wade through vendor chaos.
enoint··on Hackers have withdrawn ~4k BTC (~$320M) from the Liquid Federation wallet
Liquid already has confidentiality. I think the question is: how could they coerce the federated authorization to unfreeze peg-out to Bitcoin.
enoint··on Hackers have withdrawn ~4k BTC (~$320M) from the Liquid Federation wallet
Well, exploits are different than sticky fingers. Those white hats could claim they raided preventatively.

Canada also has leverage over toilet paper. 29% of USA crude comes from Canada with the Midwest and Rocky Mountains especially dependent.

Right. They don’t need to get caught at scale.
enoint··on California lawmakers unanimously pass Linux exemption from age-verification law
At the risk of sounding off-topic, there is other legislation distinguishing OS which contain an individualized app store from those which do not. Maybe Facebook Under 13, Facebook Teen, and Facebook Adult should be different apps.

Colorado legislation, for example, won’t change if the OS license changes.

enoint··on California lawmakers unanimously pass Linux exemption from age-verification law
Sure, but what about LinkedIn?
enoint··on California lawmakers unanimously pass Linux exemption from age-verification law
But California could adopt some of Colorado’s language about containerization:

"COVERED APPLICATION STORE" DOES NOT INCLUDE: (I) A CODE REPOSITORY PROVIDER; (II) A CONTAINERIZED SOFTWARE DISTRIBUTION; OR (III) AN ONLINE SERVICE OR PLATFORM THAT DISTRIBUTES ANY OF THE FOLLOWING APPLICATIONS IF THE APPLICATION RUNS EXCLUSIVELY WITHIN A SEPARATE HOST APPLICATION: (A) AN EXTENSION; (B) A PLUG-IN; (C) AN ADD-ON; OR (D) ANY OTHER SOFTWARE APPLICATION.

There’s no legislation coercing that field. systemd is doing what GECOS and chfn and .plan allow, but OS vendors are free to remove GECOS, chfn or .plan support.

Wired has reported that ongoing DHS surveillance tracks “anti-tech” and anti-AI sentiment. So the tech firms have concerns on both sides.

A better example is: I install Debian and later, somehow, the Google Play Store. Maybe that’s the only way to get some driver. Who is responsible for asking my age: Debian or Google?
enoint··on California lawmakers unanimously pass Linux exemption from age-verification law
Practically, the components of Android which mandate a user account are not distributed so that the user can modify them. The exemption does not apply.

enoint··on Canada will match US tariffs 'dollar for dollar' as trade talks break down
The proof is trying to tell their solutions apart from socialism:

- when the executive branch owns 11% of Intel. Can I get in line for them to buy 11% of my company, cash?

- when “maybe the children will have two dolls instead of 30 dolls” can come from both Trump and Sanders, about the government manipulating consumer choices.

It would look worst for Rubio. The status quo is that 5.1% of Florida turns out for this. But Florida is no longer a swing state.

I think it helps that the author was not a party to it. Those daily aphorisms are a canary indicating Vodafone is under occupation. One day, that canary changes. Maybe for good, maybe not.

I guess we’ll see on Wednesday, when those tokens unlock. I’m not seeing a prediction market for it, but I guess we’ll hear “buy the dip”.
enoint··on OverpAId – Fire your CEO. Hire the future
Sure, but his equity award deadline had passed, thus the fishing trip. And if things go well with Everett on the trip, the new funding would mean he can ditch those risky accounts.
