I agree that the Vision is half baked right now, but the point is they aren't seeking to compete with the VR headsets or market today. Unlike other VR headsets, Apple seeks to augment, eg your home office by replacing your TV, laptop, etc. I haven't used the headset yet as it will be released next year, but first impressions uniformly attest that the headset is concretely able to perform those functions. If the execution is there over the next years, I would expect this to greatly improve every experience that is screen-related, such as having a 3D IMAX screen in your house instead of a TV
Your reading comprehension seems to be as good as that of the lawyer here. You asked what this says about the claim that GPT-4 was good enough to pass the bar. I didn't say anything about GPT-4's quality or the legality here, only that we cannot assume this was the output of GPT-4 without evidence it was given that more people overwhelmingly use the default 3.5-turbo.
Apple isn't there right now, but the ultimate goal appears to replace computers, phones, and monitors, which is why Vision has a laptop card and operates independently. It's not born of the same concept as eg, a Meta quest which is more gaming oriented.
A large GPT-4 generated text like this showcases its repetitiveness well. If you actually read the novel, you’ll see the same recurring features: 4-5 line paragraphs, paragraphs starting with either “as” or the name of a character” etc.
40 years is nothing. So if you father was assaulted, your mother was harassed, your son was killed, or your daughter was raped, you’d forgive and forget in your lifetime? Every Sikh knows someone that suffered unimaginably and the Indian state police was either the direct perpetrator or knowingly refused to stop it. Those kinds of scars won’t heal quick and anyone that expects them to is hopelessly naive
The Wikipedia article is biased and naively relies on Indian state media. Singh is not a terrorist which is an easy call since he’s never committed any acts of terrorism. He’s a preacher and most of his sermons are the sort of benign stuff you’d expect (stop doing drugs, be a good member of the community, etc). Definitely a separatist but given the inhumane torture and imprisonment India has inflicted on everyday Sikh activists (see Jaggi Johal) not to mention the genocide in the 80s, separatism is probably the reasonable way out here
Some churches have done evil things, others have immensely benefitted their community. Arguments that uniformly paint independent groups of people with a broad stroke of immorality are usually irrational because people aren't monoliths and don't behave a single way, especially churches which are operated in a decentralized and independent fashion (eg my small city has 50+ churches, all operated by separate groups). OP's comment is just as irrational as the people who say "all women are x, all minorities/white people are y, etc. The fact that some people may subscribe to these irrational beliefs is neither here nor there.
British Raj is a great argument for the article, started in 1858 and lasted less than a century, a blip in the historical context, as power projection was a recurring problem.
This makes me wonder if short guys were getting more jobs during the pandemic since more job interviews were virtual and height wouldn’t factor in as much
Nah it’s actually a real issue, but concentrated among South Asians generally. Nobody cares in the generation born in the US but immigrants still have that mentality unfortunately
