That’s an interesting take. I’ve heard it before but I believe the opposite. For me, Rust is much easier to refactor.
Also - why does working at home imply any of those things (besides video calls).
I’ve found the GUI the hardest part of VST development (but I’m not on a traditional C++ Juce stack).
Just out of curiosity and because we all have different limits - how much do you think you used to drink, generally, and what helped you quit?
It’s hard to pay the frontier tax and ship AAA games.
Also it’s a superset of C and C++ so you can mix all three in a single file, for better or worse.
With this type you would have to check/match an extra case!
The type you use there also takes more memory than Option<T> or Maybe<T>. So it has some other downsides.
Anyway - no one is going to ship a game written in Rust with this attitude. To the other folks out there happily writing their games in Rust - don't be distracted! All it takes is one success story to prove the concept :)
This is the first I’ve heard of langflow. From the link it looks like an open source, visual … editor … for running and possibly training models? Or doing prompt engineering? Please forgive my ignorance.
My question is actually about the acquisition. What was langflow’s business model before the acquisition? Why would datastax acquire instead of donate? Essentially, is there a specific direction datastax wants to take the project, or was this a special deal to acquihire the talent?
Can you elaborate on what the “graphics code” might be in this case? Many Rust graphics engines seem to cover the same ground by having asset loading cfg’d on the target (wasm vs native). What does your project provide that a dev wouldn’t get with Rust + a wasm compatible engine?
Food - groceries are pricey! It was surprisingly expensive given the lower wages here. CA seems to be catching up though!
Mosquitoes - comparable to LA, less than Sonoma County. Smaller too. But here on the South Island we also have sandflies. They vary by region. West Coast has them bad in some remote spots.
