edkennedy··on Battle of the Business Cards
There's a huge side bar banner for Vistaprint.
edkennedy··on The End of In-Flight Wi-Fi?
Little does Schneier know about the TSA's plan to outlaw clocks on all flights.
edkennedy··on IPhone commands 60% of Japan's Smartphone Market
Perhaps there's an opportunity in translating apps over to Japanese.
edkennedy··on The Rise of the 'Edupunk'
The term 'Edupunk' being as vague as it is, this article could also be focused on auto didactics. Punk meaning individualism and free thought.
edkennedy··on Apple iOS 4.2 to Support MIDI
A victory for musicians and visualists alike. Musicians have been using touch screens ever since the several thousand dollar Lemur[1], now access will be available to all with iPhone.

edkennedy··on Just buy this one
Samsung? Really? It says they have reviewed over 54,844 reviews for their choice of digital camera. But are these reviews credible? Are they autoforms filled by bots? No distinction on the quality of review...merely the quantity.
edkennedy··on Fashion for Nerds by Example
I'm happy to see a fashion site that isn't about bare chested young males in sexual positions. It's a nice change to see a fashion blog for stylish influential men in good clothes. Thank you for the post!
edkennedy··on Ask HN: What are you reading right now?
The Foundation Series is my favourite sci-fi series, followed by Rendezvous at Rama.

Currently reading the 33 Strategies of War by Robert Greene (Author of the Art of Seduction). I quite enjoy the way he writes, it's filled with historical examples and the sidebars on each page are filled with quotes from all the ages. Similar style to "Think and Grow Rich"

edkennedy··on Rate our startup: Lifegamed
I took a second or two at the landing page and was unable to see an example game without signing up for an account. Perhaps you could provide a peek at an example game without requiring a signup?
edkennedy··on Ask HN: Anyone have questions about real estate investing?
Is the "no-money down" method of investing even possible these days?
edkennedy··on At OhLife (YC S10), daily e-mails motivate a new wave of online diarists
I filter my e-mail inbox pretty aggressively, and also use it as a to-do list. I have found that having a reminder from OhLife in the evening when doing a daily review has dramatically reduced the friction from posting into a blog or even a word file. Both of those journaling methods I tried which were abandoned a month later. The way an OhLife reminder e-mail shows you what you have written seems to model our natural way of learning by making arbitrary connections between entries.
edkennedy··on Stop Looking for a Technical Co-Founder, Learn to Code Yourself
I originally thought I would find a technical co-founder who would be as enthusiastic about my idea as I am. Then we would work together, bootstrapping a business and salary would not even be an issue. I guess you could call me cheap, although it would be a necessity for me as startup capital is almost non-existent.

I'm certainly going to be following the path suggested by the OP. I've already been thinking about it for a while.

edkennedy··on Richard Branson set to open Virgin Spaceport today.
Space exploration has always been a phallic endeavor. Now I see that Virgin has taken a very very...yonic style to it's spaceport architecture.
edkennedy··on How to create advertising that sells
I had seen this before in Ogilvy's book "Ogilvy on Advertising". I had not however, seen the blog copyranter which is very informative and damn funny. Thank you for posting this.
edkennedy··on NASA Ames’ Worden reveals DARPA-funded ‘Hundred Year Starship’ program
In the past when someone had a challenge, they would pull out their sliderule. Now when someone claims something is impossible they pull out their wallet.
edkennedy··on Benoit Mandelbrot, RIP
Ahh if only we could discuss things in never ending complexity. Here's to the father of fractals.
edkennedy··on Computer reads the internet
Particularly interesting and somewhat comedic is it's complete lack of bias. I'm curious as to how it is absorbing all this data, as the order in which it processes the data could greatly effect how it chooses it's beliefs.
edkennedy··on 'The Simpsons' Explains Its Provocative Banksy Opening
CollegeHumour has a mirror: http://www.collegehumor.com/video:1942324
edkennedy··on Why Zynga's Success Makes Game Designers Gloomy
It makes me gloomy because of the incentive advertising they included to drive traffic to affiliate offers. From what I remember, Mafia Wars had teeth whitening, diet pills and dating sites.
edkennedy··on Humor on the web and how to stop it
As a citizen of the internet, I do want to point out that the perception of humour varies in what he ironically refers to as meatspace. To some people, "that's what she said" really does sum up their entire sense of humour. The internet, like the world, has a lot of different types of humour. If you don't like it, eat an onion*

*As the author of this blog post does not explain how to stop these comedic citizens.

edkennedy··on Ask HN: what are some good blogs about online advertising?
affbuzz.com is an aggregator of all the affilate and internet marketing blogs. It's a relatively young industry, and the content creators are young as well. I expect you are seeking deeper intellectual content rather than how to make a quick buck, but you should find it interesting nonetheless. Searching through some of the blogs will find you many intriguing case studies, trends, and unexpected marketing avenues. The most popular ones are on top.
edkennedy··on How to boost your brain
I guess it's quantity not quality with NewScientist. They write a bunch of articles in the hopes that one of them will break.
edkennedy··on You and your job
Or perhaps he's buddhist. Lao Tzu wrote, "If you want to be given everything, give everything up."
edkennedy··on You and your job
The article was written to provoke discussion. That being said, "There's a time to earn, and there's a time to learn." The author certainly values learning and experience over what is typically defined as stability. This points to his beliefs and experiences with growth.
edkennedy··on Ask HN: How do Hackers kill time when bored on weekend?
Starcraft 2
edkennedy··on Unpublished Iraq War Logs Trigger Internal WikiLeaks Revolt
And yet the wikileaks twitter feed still seems to say everything is A-OK "Successfully completed our next three films. Thank you team and supporters." http://twitter.com/wikileaks/status/25591655477
edkennedy··on Unpublished Iraq War Logs Trigger Internal WikiLeaks Revolt
Even weirder, the secret that wikileaks secrets are being leaked was leaked. I question the validity of the chat.
edkennedy··on Unpublished Iraq War Logs Trigger Internal WikiLeaks Revolt
I guess the mind control lasers are working. Assange seems to be paranoid and has a messiah complex. I'm sure he's under an incredible amount of stress.
edkennedy··on Startup CEOs – The Panhandlers of the Internet
You're going to have to get busy making passive income streams to beat down that debt. I have the same issue.
edkennedy··on Dave McClure responds to Arrington's post
Nope! It was quite a ride and nothing beats a good rant. You the reader chooses the tone in the end anyways. Sometimes you have to yell "I'M MAD AS HELL AND I'M NOT GONNA TAKE IT ANYMORE!"
