Policy is about trade offs, you can disagree if they’re worth it but that isn’t what people do. They instead dig in their heels and pretend policies designed to incentivize local production don’t work because local production doesn’t exist without them. That’s the point of them, and it takes time.
Or perhaps people are thinking longer than you and realize it’s a problem America isn’t domestically producing these things? I can not stand that trade offs and thinking about domestic production cant be done because otherwise smart engineers pretend like the economy is black and white and thus if a price goes up due to a lack of domestic supply that will always be the case. Industrial policy is designed to fix that, it will not be magically fixed overnight but neither will it be fixed if we do nothing and call people idiots when they try things.
I work on real projects with paying customers with the occasional mvp here, but I tend to select for people who have distribution so mvps become apps that need maintenance almost every time.
If anything maintenance is where it gets easier the mvp stage is where more focus is required
I dislike these comments just as much. What do you want people to show you? Most of us work on projects for other people where tasks that used to take a week take a day or less. It’s also a no true Scotsman as nothing we could show would be “good enough” because it’s just the same software engineering as before but faster.
But for instance I used to work in 1-2 client projects at a time and they take months now I can do 4-5 at once and they take a month. That’s a huge improvement
MCP is at its simplest just a way to describe what the different api endpoints do to an llm and we need some protocol for this. MCP works and is a fine protocol for this
In what way does it not look real? On the contrary a significant portion of the population seems to be totally swooned by Iranian propaganda and is not aware they are a malicious actor and have been for decades conducting much worse things on foreign soil than hacks
According to polls democrats are the worse side, they are the most unpopular party maybe in history and are at an extreme low in terms of their approval rating. Trump is almost 20% more popular than the Democratic Party and they are polling below AI and ICE, they are right around the same approval rating with the American people as Iran.
And still they refuse to back down on a number of policies that have been proven to be extremely unpopular.
Social issues are just as important to voters as the economy and attacking them for caring about this issue, one that very clearly the people have asserted their opinion on, is dumb. If dems would stop dying in the hill of unpopular social policies they’d be winning more elections.
I would really disagree that opposing Trump hard enough is the reason. It’s probably the opposite, the entire party has become “oppose Trump” and has treated that like a platform instead of doing things actual voters want.
That is one of two ways, the other is to beat them with more guns. For peace to happen somebody has to surrender or you have to both lose so bad you reach a deal
If that’s the only benefit couldn’t that have just been made a law and left out all the rest? Healthcare system is worse than ever, I don’t know the cause but with its current prices I can’t imagine subsidizing it further being the answer
Yes it is not so straight forward to be able to push/pull from a repository over ssh especially with multiple users etc there are a bunch of additional configs required for this
But it absolutely wasn’t he was the most famous critic but everyone saw this who looked. Since most people didn’t dive too deep it was/is easy to post things with a spin and little real substance and people would take it is a fact because they really trusted the news outlets to not manipulate
It is much more complex than this to get basic GitHub functionality anyone who has tried can tell you that. It feels like it should be a simple command but it absolutely isn’t
It is though. Maybe you think they should be doing a better job but 12-24xing scale when you were already handling billions of commits is definitely understandable to me. It just does feel like they should have some way of ensuring customers, paying ones, don’t have to suffer so much.
Benchmarks are so difficult with ai because as soon as one gets popular it enters the dataset so the next iteration of the model is trained on the solution. I’m not sure if there’s any potential work around here or anyone doing interesting work but would love to hear about it if so
I mean 200k/MRR for one company most of these are not pure tech but people in a domain (the 200k one, while I don’t feel comfortable outright stating it is a car buying application you could likely find with a cursory search) who use tech to scale. So I have worked with lawyers, therapists, people from other countries etc to bring apps to that market using their domain/market knowledge as an edge.
