dyscrete··on Show HN: Free AI-based music demixing in the browser
This is cool, would love to see an npm package for this!

VirtualDJ[0] software lets you do this with their Stems feature in real time and works really well, and it's free I believe.

My guess is it uses geolocation APIs to match city to politicians in your district. Maybe even looks up politicians phone numbers by area codes that belong to those cities. This is just a theory of course.

dyscrete··on Inferno: A fast, React-like JavaScript library for building UIs
I like how javascripters use `const` everywhere they can except actual constants!

dyscrete··on WebKit is moving away from prefixes
Would this be a bad thing in the scenario one browser didn't implement the property properly? The webkit implementation could work fine but look awful on IE for example, which then you would simply not include it in IE.

dyscrete··on Two Weird Tricks with Redux
Can you tell me a use case using the "action" that's sent to "request.run", or is it passed just because it can be.

dyscrete··on Two Weird Tricks with Redux
You probably do not want to store a promise in state, it's not really serializable
dyscrete··on Graphing when your Facebook friends are awake
Awesome and hilarious article. Id just like to note `for (;;);` is not to prevent users from using bad JSON parsers like `eval` but prevent older browsers with little to no cross domain policy from loading it with a script tag and doing evil XSS by overriding Array or Object constructors or prototypes to pull that data
dyscrete··on Temporary fork enables Node.js to optionally use the Chakra JavaScript engine
Wow, what's up Microsoft?
dyscrete··on I won't be using Angular for my next project
I don't think anyone will see this but here goes.

Try Meteor[1].

Over the past few years using things like Angular, mithril[2], React[3], Vue[4] Meteor, and Ember[5] for large production sites, I've found Meteor painstakingly easy to quickly build real-time "isomorphic" web applications. If you haven't tried it and you're thinking about creating an app with a FRP[6] app I recommend giving it a whirl.

dyscrete··on Ask HN: What's your stand about react.js patent clause?
It's only a matter of time before React is replaced by a new, "better" frontend framework with superior licensing. I love React, but for now, I think Meteor suffices.
dyscrete··on Comment sections are poison: handle with care or remove them (2014)
Of course take everything with a grain of salt.

The Hacker News community's comments are actually more intellectual than the writer's click-bait propaganda, and leaves room for debate on the author's one-sided views.

Edit: grammar

dyscrete··on When Children with Autism Grow Up
I just read your post, and though it may be hard sometimes just remember we are all unique and you shouldn't use autism to define you as a person. A lot of intelligent people experience these symptoms and psychs are always looking for your weaknesses to put labels on and prescribe pills for (I've been diagnosed differently 3 times, once with Aspergers). You are a smart individual, you don't need Aspergers to tell you that. Good read nonetheless, thank you for sharing.

EDIT: changed some wording

dyscrete··on Show HN: Paste in CSV, get a sharable file
To be honest, there is not much need for a CSV host as most would just use Google Docs. It's a cool tool for hackers though.

EDIT: typos

dyscrete··on Show HN: Paste in CSV, get a sharable file
I was about to mention the bad security of uploading personal documents to some guy's Heroku instance.

Instead found this a very unprofessional and destructive way to handle a bug report, and possibly illegal[1].

The site's creator Hank Stoever has his public contact information available[2].

dyscrete··on But – A way to pass along a callback with just a single argument
Why not allow an optional 2nd argument that defaults to 1 on your `but` library to do this?
dyscrete··on But – A way to pass along a callback with just a single argument
Well it's not just about `this` but the arguments to pass to console rather. In this case:

    n.forEach(console.log.bind(console));
forEach is passing console all of its callback arguments, resulting in logging of keys, values, and array.

EDIT: Forgot array

dyscrete··on Xbox and PlayStation hit by 'hack'
Agreed. They've posted a picture on their twitter of a note saying "Lizard Squad made me do this" beside an insanely cut wrist. Are these activists or terrorists?
dyscrete··on Xbox and PlayStation hit by 'hack'
Here's a better article.

http://www.smh.com.au/digital-life/games/xbox-playstation-ne...

Lizard Squad is posting about their DDOS attack on twitter via @LizardMafia. They are forcing Sony and Microsoft to read their statements for them to stop the attack.

EDIT: It seems @KimDotCom is working with @SavagexCOD (Lizard Squad Member) to get the network back online in exchange for lifetime mega.co premium membership vouchers.

Kim Dot Com: Hi @LizardMafia, I want to play #Destiny on XBOX Live. I'll give your entire crew Mega lifetime premium vouchers if you let us play. Cool?

Lizard Squad: Attacks have stopped momentarily, awaiting @KimDotCom's response.

Very informative link, I don't really use PHP anymore but I was surprised to see Laravel is faster than Symfony though it uses many Symfony components.
dyscrete··on TreeFrog: high-speed full-stack C++ framework for web applications
I don't really see the benefit of using Qt in this case, and the framework states that because it's in C++ it's faster which is just plain wrong.
