dxxmxnd··on Muse: Meta's personal AI agent, features and capabilities
I think they will eventually and I will just simply keep doing things manually until then. I will not use any of Meta’s AI products for personal use.
dxxmxnd··on Muse Code and Muse Spark 1.2
Everyone is still using claude or codex if they aren’t forced off of it. Nobody is going to use a worse tool in this culture.
dxxmxnd··on Meta Pauses Employee-Tracking Program Following Internal Data Leak
Binning applications for working at Meta seems hilarious and over the top. The ‘thoughtful’ labs are vacuuming up everyone’s chat logs and prompts to train the next model as well.
dxxmxnd··on Meta targets May 20 for first wave of layoffs; additional cuts later in 2026
Lot of disagreement on this, but I agree. Sure there are lots of hungry juniors wanting to join but the experienced talent Meta really needs will avoid this company. I work here and the good people leave to places with better cultures.
dxxmxnd··on Ask HN: How is AI-assisted coding going for you professionally?
I also work at big tech. Claude code is very good and I have not written code by hand in months. These are very messy codebases as well.

I have to very much be in the loop and constantly guiding it with clarifying questions but it has made running multiple projects in parallel much easier and has handled many tedious tasks.

dxxmxnd··on "Token anxiety", a slot machine by any other name
> is it really work if all you're doing is telling the computer what to do and then reviewing it to make sure it didn't do anything wrong and also babysitting it all hours of the day?

It’s funny because this is what we do already at many jobs but now its just telling a computer to tell a computer what to do. A higher level of abstraction.

dxxmxnd··on Amazon is laying off 16,000 employees
The tech industry is so terrible for employees right now, and I can’t wait until the tides shift. Another day, another major layoff from a big, profitable company.

I, for one, will not forget how disposable these companies treated their employees and I will return the favor.

dxxmxnd··on Let's call a murder a murder
I also think that anti-immigrant is a rising sentiment, and a lot can change in six years so I don’t think this discounts that feeling.
dxxmxnd··on America's affordability crisis is (mostly) a mirage

dxxmxnd··on Reflections on AI at the End of 2025
Thank you. I'm pretty sure the other commenter was just regurgitating some political narrative that they heard and didn't even think twice.
dxxmxnd··on Instagram chief orders staff back to the office five days a week in 2026
I am currently an engineer at Meta. No one in my office is cross pollinating among different teams. In fact most of us are not even talking to each other unless there’s a dedicated meeting time for it. This whole thing about collaborating is better in person has never been my experience, because the collaboration (at least for engineering) is most of the time better done in a document.

There are, however, a few times when getting together and discussing something in person is valuable, but this is no more than maybe a couple times a month. I can definitely see this being different for other roles.

dxxmxnd··on The H-1B Visa Program and Its Impact on the U.S. Economy
There is no real skill needed for these big tech jobs. I think many people *over estimate* their “skills”.
dxxmxnd··on Meta’s live demo fails; “AI” recording plays before the actor takes the steps
Its definitely a joke. They were saying it again when the WhatsApp call failed. They were being sarcastic.
dxxmxnd··on Meta Ray-Ban Display
I’m surprised everyone is saying they weren’t sarcastic. They were even being MORE sarcastic about it being the Wi-Fi after the failed WhatsApp call.
dxxmxnd··on Pixel 10 Phones
I use an iPhone because Apple is more focused on privacy, and I don’t really need that many features on my phone.
dxxmxnd··on The ‘white-collar bloodbath’ is all part of the AI hype machine
This website has its own graph which looks different.

I have never gone to Indeed to apply for a job.

dxxmxnd··on Database mocks are not worth it
Any suggestions on where to read about this more?
dxxmxnd··on 91% of polled Amazon staff unhappy with RTO, 3-in-4 want to jump ship
Mind linking the Yegge posts? I haven’t found the Amazon ones via google.
dxxmxnd··on YouTube is testing a more aggressive approach against ad blockers
16 USD a month just to block ads seems ridiculous.
