duh··on Steve Blank: Relentless – The Difference Between Motion And Action
You're certainly right - did you notice how Steve Blank never actually explained how to bridge the gap between "schedule meetings with people" and "get the deal done"?

"Scheduling meetings" is required, it just can't be used as a metric for progress. Don't get fooled into believing all these problems can be solved by sitting down and writing code for 10 hours.

duh··on Steve Blank: Relentless – The Difference Between Motion And Action
"deal making" is pretty damn important, I don't know why you think it's some intermediary step like making a phone call or sitting in a meeting.

The dearth of women in software development and the preponderance of women in biotechnology are probably not unrelated phenomena.
duh··on Phys Ed: Why Doesn’t Exercise Lead to Weight Loss?
Rush Limbaugh is fat.
duh··on The Unemployment Rate for People Like You
You "wish" more blacks could be more like him? How many black people do you have intimate conversations with to base your opinion on how "most" of them are like?

I'm curious - what's your opinion on what other races who aren't white should be more like? I mean in your perfect world where white people just dictated how everyone should behave.

duh··on WTF is up with Dell?
> I don't want to fuck around with a salesguy, just tell me what it fucking costs.

I used to think this way until I started running a business and realized that people are people and they do things like give discounts, while web apps do not.

When we order with a web app we generally follow up with a call to a sales rep to see if we can get a discount (now, or in the future).

You should look into talking to people sometimes.

duh··on WTF is up with Dell?
I don't know, it sounds like the marketers at Dell have done an excellent job of getting you to talk about their message and product. You even seem to have done a little market research for them.
duh··on 9,73,241,561,1081,1849,_?_
You can only prove that the answer is incorrect.
duh··on Google Dashboard: This is a brief of how much Google knows about you
> don't actually verify any of that information,

> so most of it is junk

How is this a logical progression? And does google "verify" any of its information?

duh··on Google Dashboard: This is a brief of how much Google knows about you

> Now imagine

Uhm - have you ever checked your credit report?

duh··on Google Dashboard: This is a brief of how much Google knows about you
> Why do they need access to that?

I think it may have something to do with making money.

duh··on Apple doesn't owe you anything
I used to avoid Windows because I thought Linux was superior "technically".

Now I use OS X and avoid windows because it's fucking awful.

duh··on Is it Time for You to Earn or to Learn?
> If you really want to earn you need to be in the top 3-4 in the company. Best to be a founder.

The most important line of the article. If you're not on the conference calls and meetings that involve money, you're a sucker. They are hiding things from you.

Work a 9-5 and "learn" on your own time - or better yet, learn as part of the job where you're paid what you're actually worth. Many developers need to learn how to grow a spine and not work to make other (startup) people rich.

Likewise, if you work a 9-5 and don't have time to "learn", you're a sucker. What the HELL (!!!) are you doing working your ass off for a megacorp? This is something of a false dichotomy.
