It was such a special thing before it was hit with a lot of road grading over the 15+ years of monthly patching that smoothed a lot of the rough edges that made it really unique.
Beyond that it was a solid operating system and one of the better Windows releases.
Most people just had shit computers, combined with "group think" regarding it's quality.
Vista64 on a moderately good system with a proper amount of RAM was fantastic for it's time.
It's based on Ubuntu LTS, so a Debian-descendant.
I appreciate they're trying to provide a specific type of experience, and it's not really a criticism but as a 30+ year Linux user -- with any new distro that's my first question.
Elon has always slashed customer service and PR in the companies he runs.
Twitter for all it's warts, was still a haven for public accountability when traditional customer service avenues fell short.
Not surprising that following an unprecedented consolidation of wealth (2020), we see someone take that opportunity to dismantle that.
The steam deck replaces gaming laptops for me. Gaming laptops have always been hot, noisy, and highly failure prone. The deck is downright dainty in comparison and doesn't require me to carry a mouse, controller, and clunky power brick as well.
The ensemble cast was phenomenal. They delivered believable, vulnerable, and often completely frustrating performances.

I wish I had the cycles and the kit on hand to play with this!
You have to set the irq affinity to utilize the available CPU cores.
There is a script included with the source you used to compile drivers called "set_irq_affinity"
Ex (Sets IRQ Affinity for all available cores) :
[path-to-i40epackage]/scripts/set_irq_affinity -x all ethX
