This "disorganized" warehouse is faster for the robots to access as they simply memorize where each item was placed on arrival.
While I also dislike the "all white" look, I don't think anyone is pining for an avocado fridge and brown pile shag, 'cause we already had that.
What makes it insanely great in addition to readability is the variable weights from 100 to 900 in a single file, plus a huge range of glyphs.
And to that we can add "and it's schoolchildren."
Instead, the company made a deal with a petroleum business to get their own natural gas pipeline, burn that gas, and emit more carbon than the EPA has ever allowed at any factory in US history.
All this for more AI? Really? How is that helping? Layoffs hurt people. Cutting social services like food and housing combined with unemployment leads to social unrest. A data center won't fix that.
And all of this while Amazon says they want to be "carbon neutral" by some imaginary future date. What a hell of a step backwards.
It's a demonstration project for my Watson software engine, posted earlier. [1]
If people get used to relying on free or cheap AI-generated content, their overall intellectual capacity and ability to act in the world will be lower.
Another way of saying it is that the world of software is so vast, from DIY homegrown to open source libraries to closed commercial apps that there isn't one "best" of any of it, or even 10 best.
I'd say your explorations will take you the furthest if you focus on a problem domain, learn all about it that you can, then find out what software exists in that problem space and whether or not the world would benefit from something new from you in that area.
Apple is anti-dev, pro control of the income stream, and only interested in supporting devs that are all in on the cult.
The fact that the dev made a web version with all the same functionality just proves we don't need an app store nor Apple to gatekeep it.
Can we please have software that helps take good care of customers, not shovelware that treats customers like numbers to be passed off to an AI?
