dsizemore··on Evernote will restrict free users to 50 notes starting December 4
Converted out to Apple Notes and couldn't be happier. Evernote has been garbage for a while. I take screenshots and paste them into Evernote fairly frequently and it's also fun getting back in there later seeing that all the screenshots I pasted didn't actually paste and is now just a broken image.

Not to mention the stuff they pulled where free accounts (had one for years and years) had a small device limit and of course the never ending sales modals you get when you log in which always say "are you sure, you won't see this sale again" which of course pops up again when you log in next time.

Screw Evernote. I'm glad I converted out.

dsizemore··on Ask HN: Who here has built a profitable startup while keeping their day job?
Unfortunately it's not profitable and I'm not even sure I'd call it a "startup" but I do have a day job and enjoy building web apps in my free time. My most recent project is http://www.famsnap.com. I built it after becoming frustrated with the process of finding a photographer to take family photos while we were on vacation.

I have around 300 members currently but it has been slow growth. Every photographer I've told loves the idea but there's no place to really promote as posting on Facebook groups or forums is seen as spam and deleted. So I'll keep on growing slowly I guess using Instagram to contact photographers and see where I am in a few years.

dsizemore··on Show HN: FamSnap – Find a Family Portrait Photographer in Your Area
I built FamSnap last year after becoming frustrated with the process of searching for a photographer to take family portraits on our vacation. The process consisted of searching google and spending days looking through individual photographer websites looking for examples of their work, their rates and what (if anything) they included in their packages.

I built FamSnap to make it easier on folks like myself to find a photographer in their area at a price they can afford who's offering the things they're looking for in a package deal.

dsizemore··on Major changes to Mandrill, must be tied to a MailChimp account
I can't believe this. I use their free plan because I send a minimal amount of email per month. Absolutely no way I'll consider going to $20 per month for my basic needs. I'll probably go ahead and switch newsletter services over to something else too. Who knows when they may get a wild hair and do away with their free account there too.
dsizemore··on Show HN: ColorFavs – Create and Discover Color Palettes
Sorry about that. I'm currently getting slammed from ProductHunt, DesignerNews and WebDesignerNews. I'm working with my host to keep things going for the time being until traffic levels out. Give it a try again it should work.
dsizemore··on Show HN: Golf Ledger – Share, Discover and Discuss All Things Golf
Thanks for giving it a try. Definitely needs more people posting. :)
dsizemore··on Show HN: Yardage Tracker for Android
Sounds really nice! Coincidentally, I just posted my site here on Show HN: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=9773383

Feel free to signup and post over there too!

Is there plans for an apple app as well?

dsizemore··on Show HN: Golf Ledger – Share, Discover and Discuss All Things Golf
Hey, everyone. I've been mostly a designer/front-end guy my whole life. I've always wanted to build a golf community so about a year or so ago, I set out to learn Python and Django. I finally got to a point where I knew enough to build what I wanted and Golf Ledger is the result of my efforts. Let me know what you think.

Thanks.

dsizemore··on What was your best passive income in 2014?
I make $200+ with Adsense and BuySellAds from http://www.logogala.com.

It's been online for around eight years or so now. I typically work on it maybe 15-20 minutes a night or every other night uploading new designs that have been submitted.

Currently planning to re-develop it and make it so designers can sign up and manage their own profile and designs but I'm a little afraid to touch it and end up losing all of the little bit of money I'm currently making.
