drop_star··on Hollywood's Video Game Era Is Here. Will It Be Any Good?
> I strongly believe that video games have a higher ceiling for storytelling quality.

I find the opposite. I play a game and get into the story only to put it down and totally forget what the hell I was doing the next time I pick it up (sometimes a week later). I really wish there was a re-cap feature in games. Playing Elden Ring required a guide since the game is incredibly dense and has little to no quest tracking.

This is why as I get older and have less time I play more Fortnight and alike as I can just drop in and play for 15 mins

drop_star··on Trade (and Tariffs)
I think the 'tariffs' in this comic are related to the current regimes application of them. Not representative of tariffs as a whole.
drop_star··on U.S. State Department pauses immigrant visa applications
That was an isolated incident triggered by local police. Not an active nationwide policy to deploy immigration officers to all migrant protests
drop_star··on The Tariff Cost: analysis of the costs to Americans from new tariffs on Canada
The administration faces steep legal headwinds. Having already lost at the Supreme Court over the misuse of the IEEPA, the courts are likely to view Section 338 with significant skepticism.

The statutory requirements of Section 338—specifically requiring a formal finding of discriminatory disadvantage against U.S. goods (hard to prove under CUSMA’s preferential framework) and strictly "offsetting" remedies—make the sweeping 50% broad-based tariffs legally vulnerable.

Likely Outcome in Court: A federal court will likely grant an injunction temporarily staying the tariffs pending a full review, or strike them down entirely as exceeding executive statutory authority under Article I of the Constitution.

drop_star··on England set to be one of the first countries to eliminate hepatitis C
He stated that the FDA had found "no red flags" regarding pregnant women

A "Red Flag" (or Safety Signal) is an actual, observed increase in adverse events in real-world data.

What he was discussing in the text was a theoretical risk.

A "Theoretical Risk" is a hypothetical concern based on known biological mechanisms (e.g., "high fevers can cause miscarriages, so a vaccine-induced fever might do the same").

drop_star··on Midlife Vascular Risk Burden and Dementia-Free Survival Years
> For those who are inclined

I'd actually recommend an incline treadmill. Roughly 10% grade 3mph will give you the same caloric burn as a run but will be significantly easier to perform and save your knees from the wear and tear of running.
