drcross··on Cards Against Humanity Launches a Super Pac to Match Elon Musk's Super Pac
He's not paying people to vote. He's paying people to register to vote.
drcross··on Fossil fuels could have been left in the dust 25 years ago
You may be putting the cart before the horse. Wouldnt pumping out tons of anything create forcing functions for efficiency, as in, exactly what happened but on a longer timeframe?
drcross··on Blueprint health protocol
There's ways to check stress levels and optimise for them, which is what he's done.
drcross··on Blueprint health protocol
I cant tell if you're being sarcastic but the protocol was developed as the result of his teams reading the latest published literature. I'm not being snarky here but if you have a problem with it, it's the result (by definition) of you not being up to date on what the corpus of science is telling us about nutrition.
drcross··on Blueprint health protocol
You're choosing to pick the negatives but the potential upsides (even excluding personal desires) are monumentally massive.

How about not having 25% of the population walking around with an underdeveloped pre-frontal cortex at any one time, that need 30 years of education before they have the wisdom to do anything halfway useful. How about government policies that operate with a decades long view instead of just one election term. Global ID's would rise massively and decisions would have a far more balanced outlook.

drcross··on Blueprint health protocol
>However, what is not mentioned, is that this result, while impressive, is not so extraordinary.

The lesson here is that not all phenotypes age at the same rate. Bryan doesn't have a choice in that, like none of us have. He mentions that his hair started falling out in his 30's while I have a full head of hair in my 40's. He's promoting a lifestyle and being an experiment, he doesn't need to caveat his work in any way.

drcross··on Hyperloop One to shut down
What you call arrogance I call enthusiasm, industrialism and hope for a better future. Your attitude, quite frankly, sucks.
drcross··on China solar module prices keep diving
Panel cost is probably 10-20% of a total install cost. What you're paying for is labour, inverter, cabling and metal mounting equipment. Mostly labour. If you're able to self install you can shave years off ROI.
drcross··on Multiple Sclerosis discovery could end disease's chronic inflammation
>taurocholic acid is hepatotoxic

Excuse my rudimentary question but does this mean it would still be possible for administration intravenously?

drcross··on ‘Breakthrough’ obesity drugs that have stunned researchers
Please correct me if i'm wrong but wasn't the initial research on this conducted on animal models where they were essentially starved to the point where they went into hibernation mode?

The point that I'd like to make is- if you think a comparison between hunter/gathers and the modern human is illustrative for a diet where our phenotype thrives best, sure, their food arrive at more irregular intervals than the modern human and they probably binged on what was in season at the time (which might give us pointers for our own diet) but I think the concept of perpetual calorie restriction as a full time human diet is infantile and quacky.

drcross··on Why Twitter didn’t go down: From a real Twitter SRE
Musk lead teams at the only company who can land commercial rockets and the first company to profit from making electric cars. To say he is a wealthy idiot says more about you than it does about Musk.
drcross··on Why Twitter didn’t go down: From a real Twitter SRE
Debts from where? Any evidence of this at all? It seems like fantasy considering how much money the rest of Musks companies have in the bank.
drcross··on The FBI alleges TikTok poses national security concerns
Trump tried this and had to back down due to it being an unpopular decision. https://edition.cnn.com/2020/08/06/politics/trump-executive-...
drcross··on Infosys leaked FullAdminAccess AWS keys on PyPI for over a year
>No competent employee stays in those companies

Absolutely true from first hand experience.

Imagine being a top performer doing great work for a company whose managers insist on wasting your time putting you into needless meetings getting you to explain how you're doing everything all through badly communicated text with typos and misspellings.

drcross··on Tesla finds a loophole in states where dealerships are forbidden: Tribal lands
>no customer service

I own a Tesla and have had no problems with customer service.

What I do have a problem with is negotiating a price for a vehicle from a slimy dealership agent who have a litany of techniques to increase their profit for no good reason. On the Tesla website the price you pay is the price that everyone pays.

drcross··on Myocarditis after Covid vaccination: Research on possible long-term risks begins
Are you still, three years after the initial outbreak, continuing this nonsense? None of your talking points make sense and have been repeatedly shattered into the brittle sophistry that they are.

The risk of myocarditis is an existential risk to my being, and one that only a fool would take.

drcross··on Myocarditis after Covid vaccination: Research on possible long-term risks begins
>But that doesn't change the fact that vaccines save lives.

Yeah, all fine and good when you have informed consent. I took my life in my own hands by not getting vaccinated for covid after I looked at the mortality age graph, and knew I was fit and healthy and didn't need to worry.

Society at large, however, castigated me, threw me in the same box as a conspiracy theorist, denied me my rights. People acted goddamn stupidly about this subject. I'm angry about this and I won't forgive and I won't forget.

drcross··on Musk’s first email to Twitter staff ends remote work
Watch Musks interview with Ron Baron instead of reading second hand quality hack articles if you want to understand the scale of his plans for twitter.
drcross··on Kim Jung Gi has died
Keep repeating the mantra and it makes it true.
drcross··on Tesla Vision Update: Replacing Ultrasonic Sensors with Tesla Vision
Tesla's are outselling every other manufacturer (ICE or otherwise) in many countries for the last quarter and they are still severely supply constrained; your personal antidotal data point doesn't serve much purpose in the broader context.
drcross··on Tesla Vision Update: Replacing Ultrasonic Sensors with Tesla Vision
When you have a several month wait list for your product, legions of devoted potential customers, if you're head and shoulders above any of your competitors, you're able to get away with things like this.
drcross··on Mercedes and Ferrari’s edge in the electric car age: high-end axial motors
This has been completely debunked numerous times in the last week. It's a total smear campaign by a competitor.
drcross··on Mercedes and Ferrari’s edge in the electric car age: high-end axial motors
You obviously haven't seen the FSD upgrade that was released yesterday.
drcross··on Mercedes and Ferrari’s edge in the electric car age: high-end axial motors
My suspicion is that Toyota is trying for a "too big to fail" move. Get bailed out by the governments to keep the jobs going.
drcross··on Students may now begin teaching in AZ public schools before they finish degree
Yes, you do. 5-8 years olds are at a far more impressionable age than at any other time.
drcross··on Twitter set to accept Musk's $43B offer – sources
> Twitter's true customers are its advertisers.

You're basing your assumption that advertisers will be the main source of revenue in the future.

drcross··on How illiterate people use their mobile phones (2012)
I know someone with very bad dyslexia and it's not that he didn't get a basic education, it's that he can't understand written text or menu items more than one layer deep. He calls if wants to communicate which is very endearing but I also have major misgivings with modern UI paradigms. The "three dashed lines" that you see everywhere are infuriating.
drcross··on Covid-19 vaccines and treatments: we must have raw data, now
The chairman of Thompson Reuters, who professionally fact check information for Facebook, is on the board of Pfizer which is a grave conflict of interest and there's been repeated examples of them lying outright so all bets are off on who you may suggest is being misleading.
drcross··on Covid-19 vaccines and treatments: we must have raw data, now
I'm so sick of comments like this. I'll read the goddamn information presented to me and use my own critical thinking skills to determine what I see as useful. Whatever past the person has, if there is a potential issue with something, it's someone like this who has been paying attention with a focus on the matter who will alert us first.
drcross··on SARS-CoV-2 variant A.30 is heavily mutated and evades vaccine-induced antibodies
So you're saying a vaccinated person is likely to unknowingly infect other people around them?
