Not the case for me. I tried .envs, ansible-vault and sops, and it always ends up reading the unencrypted ones for some reason, usually in debugging sessions, it finds a way to read them.
I just create a MVP chatbot for a client that has a Django app. I took the route to no frameworks. Claude/codex wrote the agent loop, the tools, the streaming..it’s working well for the MVP, we’ll see
- a personal and private webpage for:
health: garmin metrics, apple health metrics, blood tests, rx..
- a kind of readitlater and bookmark index
- personal finance: wip
- in my homelab only available within tailscale.
The final idea is to own all my data, but I’m still on it.
Actually seems like a good idea. It's like when I use a 2012 laptop. I can't last more than 30 minutes on it. Probably a LAN proxy that throttles the network for some devices...
It was easy to see coming, and it’ll spread further and to more services. In fact, recently they even forced old accounts to log in or they would delete them.
It’ll happen with social media accounts and other things too. The account creation date is going to become an even bigger heuristic in their spam models.
The other day I was at a spa, they had a TV in the background showing a channel with relaxing images, but after 5 minutes ads started playing.I don't think the spa staff even knew about it. we're fucked
I always thought clickhouse would release a kind of oltp engine syncable with the olap one, in their core, compatible with postgres clients. pretty sure the recently launched managed postgresql is just a shortcut :)

For global companies like Starlink, complying with the privacy laws of every country must be a nightmare. In fact, it really surprises me that they actually follow them to the letter in practice. I’d bet that internally and technically they aren’t fully complied with, but there’s no way to know
My workflow is a bit different in the sense I open my claude session in my laptop, at the directory of my ansible homelab code, and I also give Claude access to ssh to my homelab. But at the end it's almost the same, great tool.
I’ve been managing a 100+ GB PostgreSQL database for years. Each two years I upgrade the VPS for the size, and also the db and os version.
The app is in the same VPS as the DB. A 2 hour window each two years is ok for the use case. No regrets.
After almost 10 years using ubuntu for vps servers, I’m tired of update them every two years. I would prefer a rolling release distribution, but i don’t have time to select one and make the switch :/
I'm not to much into networks, although I've been sysadmin my vps for years.
why I would need a NAT Gateway? it's not enough with a good set of rules of ufw or similar software?
More integrations are great. Anyway, the "this is awesome" moment (for me) will be when you could mix row- and column-oriented tables in Postgres, a bit like Timescale but native Postgres and well done. Hopefully one day.
