drako999··on Show HN: Appsmith Agents – a new way to use AI within your existing tools
We’re trialing a new feature in our AI agent platform at Appsmith intended to make it easier for users to set up agents with their own tools. I’m asking for feedback on how we can continue to iterate on these agents, and what integrations do you need next?
drako999··on How to write a great README
That was an intentional decision we took because we realised that the majority of users struggled to grasp the concept behind the project and how to use it. We didn't feel that we were ready to optimise for contributors yet :)

Good point about mentioning why it exists!

Thank you for the feedback! We'll fix it :)

Most likely, replying to user queries :)
drako999··on How to write a great README
Hey everyone, I'm a co-founder and CPO at Appsmith. I have used this article to share our experiences with writing a great README, and I think it would be beneficial to hear about everyone's experiences with what actually makes a README useful for an open source project. Would love your feedback on the topic. And of course, if you have any feedback on how we can make Appsmith's README more useful for you, please let us know!
drako999··on Open source alternative to Retool: Appsmith
Load wise appsmith was built to be very light and acts primarily as a proxy between your own databases and APIs so we scale well with your own backends. The biggest limitation to building something consumer facing is that our UI and UX is geared towards making internal tools easy so our styling options are limited to simplistic UI. Authentication and access control come out of the box but if you have your own authentication APIs you can just as easily build a login page on appsmith and use them.

That's exactly why we built appsmith. A company's core tech stack should be built on open source technology so you're never held hostage by proprietary software. https://github.com/appsmithorg/appsmith
drako999··on Gitlab ‘rethinking’ third-party telemetry
Well from what I understand it's that third party scripts are a problem because they may behave maliciously and gain access to parts of the application. If the third party script is an open source project, doesn't that mitigate this?
drako999··on Gitlab ‘rethinking’ third-party telemetry
Hey, I'm building an on prem solution and had a question regarding this. Would it still be a problem if the third party was someone like segment whose open source analytics library you're using? https://github.com/segmentio/analytics.js
