I got sort of used to the chrome extension, but that uses to much screen space. I want an app that takes advantage of the notification system built into OSX.
These sort of wrappers (like op's app) get really close to native apps (in terms of ui/ux).
I consider that the term "consultant" is used to freely and most of the time clients advertise that they are looking to hire a consultant when they actually want to hire a freelance developer.
I don't have anything against this website, but I've seen this stuff happen before and I don't understand it.
I want my browser to be fast, I don't want a bunch of stuff in the background.
Anyway, if I implement it myself, it would have to be a Chrome/Firefox extension and I don't know if that would be a feasible solution.
It's OK to be a fanboy, but at least try to understand what's going on.
Also, they might have revolutionized iOS but they didn't revolutionized mobile OS in general.
Some people suggested going with a multi-platform framework. I'm against that because you will not really learn how Android or iOS apps really work.
For me, a multi-platform framework is really good when you have limited resources and want to quickly build an app for more platforms. For learning purposes, I recommend going native.

PS: Haven't used it personally, but I know some people that used it to form companies in the UK. (people being from outside the UK, but in EU member countries).
