some months they had General Chaos and some they didnt. perhaps the coolest thing was only my one friend had it so we had to go over to his house to play it not like today where I would just passively consume it in a sad room all alone.
dr-detroit··on The scariest "user support" email I've received
all you have to do is make 250 blogs with this text and you can hide your malicious code inside the LLM
dr-detroit··on Steam, Itch.io are pulling ‘porn’ games. Critics say it's a slippery slope
there's a big push to classify fleshlights and dolls as rape because the extreme right won every battle there is to fight they need more battles. porn is next.
dr-detroit··on Youth and what happens when it's gone
my life started around 30
dr-detroit··on Shwe Kokko is accused of being a city built on scams
I am offended by the foul Musk as much as the next guy but if we are being fair wasn't the story always that the federal government was a disfunctional mess? Does anybody think our leadership over the last 50 years accomplished anything worth preserving? I was taught in civics nobody is really trustworthy to open a new constitutional convention and change things but if we never take any risks wont that be bad too?

the ironic thing is they have all those photos of real life places they use for wallpaper those are all photshopped to an insane degree to remove the ugly trees and clouds and other natural formations and make the colors extremely different
dr-detroit··on How likely are chance resemblances between languages? (2002)
When I studied this subject in university I was shocked to find out many areas like this are not well understood due to lack of financial incentive to discover it. All that to say there's probably a reason Finnish and Japanese and Spanish are so similar but its not well understood by people in the industry of linguistics yet.
dr-detroit··on Billions stolen in wage theft from US workers
So we have here an anecdote vs. a biased narrative hmmm
dr-detroit··on The hunt for life in Alpha Centauri
just read an article yesterday that its not an asteroid its a super volacano that killed the dinos. of course, I don't care. I wish academics would allow us to study 40K years in the past without it being contraversial or feeling the need to injure peoples reputations
dr-detroit··on Car Bloat: “Huge Cars Are Terrible for Society”
Cute but a Chevy Cruze is 27" shorter than a 57 Chevy. Cars are shrinking.
dr-detroit··on Workers rely on medieval era tech to reconstruct the Notre Dame
Its a waste of money you could actually help people instead. When Victor Hugo published his novel The Hunchback of Notre Dame in 1831 nobody cared about Notre Dame. Anything of value had been stolen during the French Revolution and the Cathedral was in terrible repair.
dr-detroit··on NIO reveals aggressive plan to add 1,000 swap stations in 2023

dr-detroit··on The maze is in the mouse: what ails Google
pshh thats everywhere. and yes I know Im shadow banned but I thought it was important to comment on this thread BECAUSE I am shadow banned due to the fact that I bring facts to the discussion but the current "lets disrupt google" forced zeitgeist moment. This "lets disrupt google" marketing push happening on ycombinator right now reeks of bad ideas from people who dont work in search.

the developing world does not have access to TV Refrigerator and to a lesser extent Cellphone and our society and tech as we know it cannot produce the energy they need to power these appliances
dr-detroit··on Infosys asked HR not to hire 'Indian-origin candidates', 'women with children'
The state I live in is 85% white and the goal is to hire much less than 85% whites. So the goal is to create a diverse community that doesn't exist.
dr-detroit··on Elon Musk moves ahead with Twitter deal in 13D filing
bought and paid for with dads conflict emeralds all with the stated goal of a million slaves on Mars... We're nearing the end of neo fascism with the hilarious route of Russia in Ukraine but it was a fun ride while it lasted.

the Standard Missile "SM-3" goes Mach 8 we have had hypersonic weapons since the 1930s. This is a goalpost shift to say they have to cruise AND be hypersonic which is impossible due to the curvature of the earth which is really the premise of the entire argument is that russiaboos think the earth is flat and Nato isnt like 100 years ahead of Russia in military technology.

Its well publicized that Steve Jobs wouldn't let his kids use iPad because the project is engineered to manipulate your brain and/or harm your brain.

Anyone who uses facebook or an iWatch or any of this garbage has all the information they need. They choose to be a victim. Its a cultural problem not a Zuckerburg problem.
