The universe is shaped like a doughnut.

A complete nightmare!

Someone please use this data to make a clone of Weather Spark. Weather Spark came way before Dark Sky. As an ameature professional weather nerd I feel it was the best weather site ever! You could do so much with the data in one unified dashboard style screen! Especially with the integrated historical datasets.

I was wondering this. Thanks for the info!

I've worked at breweries in the past and they used all sorts of computer generated imagery for products. They had me fooled too. Don't feel bad for being mistaken.

Velcro is your friend. So much this!

This looks very promising. I'm interested in how to make effects and learn more about it. What a cool project!

This sounds like such an awesome project!

"Bridge Simulators, like Thorium Nova, are cooperative live-action role-playing games set in space. Players act out the roles of a spaceship bridge crew, such as communications officer, navigator, or captain. They work together to complete a set of mission objectives.

Thorium Nova adds a flight director, who sits behind the scenes to act as a game master, controlling what happens inside the simulation, acting out the roles of aliens the crew encounters, and guiding the crew through the storyline.

Many bridge simulators, like Artemis or Empty Epsilon, focus only on arcade action. Thorium Nova attempts to bridge the gap by offering rich stories in a dynamic environment, while staying simple enough for anyone to enjoy among friends in their living room."

I had a feeling this was coming after they were acquired by Akamai. I'm so glad I purged all my unused idle Linode servers a few days ago.

I've had pretty good luck running most older games via Windows with Parallels on my M1 Macbook Pro.

Microsoft now officially supports Windows via Parallels as “an authorized solution” on M1 & M2 Macs. https://www.theverge.com/2023/2/16/23602718/microsoft-window...

Parallels runs Windows 11 & Debian wonderfully in my experience for running anything I can't in MacOS. If someone could just get a good port of Android running well on an M1 it would be the ideal solution for me.

Why not just host your own? Why rely on Oracle for anything at this point?

I use Nextcloud's bookmark features via the YunoHost instance I self host. A simple roll your own solution of sorts. https://yunohost.org/ is a really cool project. I love what they're doing.

This article was a great read!

Thank you for giving me the courage to go this route. The only reason I'm on Windows at this point is for gaming. Time to give Proton another try. I can't wait for my Steam Deck to arrive next year! =)

We all saw this coming.

Very interesting.

I was in the Phish vs. phans chess.com match on NYE. I was wondering how this is handled. Fascinating! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for sharing this information.

This looks great! I've been playing around with NGINX RTMP for video streaming a bit but this seems much more manageable. Looking forward to giving it a whirl!

Was excited to see one of my friends featured on the homepage! What a small world. Ha!

Why? Please explain for those of us like me who don't understand.

Exactly. What happens in the future when people quit caring about computing freedom?
