donniezazen··on Ask HN: Best OSS Projects for Beginning Contributors
Any of the KDE Community projects. http://community.kde.org/Getinvolved
donniezazen··on Linux gets frozen, what do you do?
If AltGr is right Alt, it does print a bunch of stuff. On my system, SysRq is under PrtSc. Does that mean I have to do Fn+PrtSc to get SysRq or just PrtSc is enough.
donniezazen··on Linux gets frozen, what do you do?
Can't get it to work on Fedora 20. Are you suppose to press and hold Ctrl, Alt, PrtSc(SysRq), r, e, i, s, u, and b all together? Does it have to be in that order?
donniezazen··on Google Reader announced its shutdown exactly a year ago
I tend to fall into I-have-to-follow-everything-category stealing time that I could spend creating stuff that other folks might have not imagined.
donniezazen··on Google Reader announced its shutdown exactly a year ago
I have stopped consuming news through RSS readers because no one organize can produce quality work on a consistent basis. With limited amount of time I need a system that would tell me newsworthiness of an item. I have come to a conclusion that crowdsourced news is the best form of news reading. I have been slowly trying to read all my news on Google+, HN, and Reddit.
donniezazen··on Save more with Google Drive
Yeah, they gotta have an internal Linux client.
donniezazen··on 30 Days of Inbox Zero: How I Did it
Is anyone who gets a lot of emails use default Gmail filters, how do you feel about it?
donniezazen··on Chromium on Linux replacing GTK+
It would be interesting to hear why they didn't pick something like Qt.
donniezazen··on Discontinuing support for all third-party messaging networks
IM has simply become a mess with isolated protocols.
donniezazen··on Flappy Bird Ported to C64
Is Flappy Bird really so much fun? I quickly lost interest after losing a few times.
donniezazen··on The C++ and programming books I recommend
I am about to finish CS106a which is designed in similar fashion. It uses ACM libraries. It was my first programming course and I think I did great[1]. Mehran Sahami is a great teacher and he presented lectures in a very digestible fashion. Also assignments are designed in a very doable way. It all turned out to be a very pleasing experience. There is no end to learning so I will have to spend some time learning the main Java class.

It also only supports Mac(Xcode) and Windows(VB) but I would like to use something like Qt-Creator on Linux.

donniezazen··on The C++ and programming books I recommend
Would it be counter productive to learn C++ using Stanford School of Engineering Introduction to Computer Science Programming Abstractions[1] CS106b considering it was taught in 2008?

donniezazen··on Google I/O announced for June 25-26
Visa hassle and trip cost could be off putting considering you could watch all the videos at home.
donniezazen··on Google I/O announced for June 25-26
Do folks from non-US countries attend Google I/O?
donniezazen··on Free static page hosting on Google App Engine in minutes
Can you use one of the static site generators and git to publish your posts?
donniezazen··on Free static page hosting on Google App Engine in minutes
Since it's Google, I am sure one is allowed to use Adsense.
donniezazen··on Why I'm Done With Social Media Buttons
Internet is broken in a lot of ways including the Social Media Buttons. Reading this post made me think how seriously we need, for an example, Android style social sharing button in Chrome. Also text be kept as text and not something that is dynamic.
donniezazen··on Bill Gates: AMA on Reddit
The part that resonated with how I feel everyone should live this tiny universe.

Just creating an innovative company is a huge contribution to the world.
World would be a much better place if we just go about minding our own business making our own lives easier and not interfering in other people's business.
donniezazen··on If you had to start over, what technologies would you learn in 2014?
Can you do without only Python and its framework for programming side? As someone new to programming, I find it mind boggling how folks suggest learning multiple languages. Or does it become natural after you know one language very well.
donniezazen··on Learning to Code vs Learning Computer Science
As someone who has started learning coding, I don't think I can get interested in Compute Science by not learning to build things.
donniezazen··on A Digital Detox Test: Unplug Twitter and Facebook. Put Off Email and Smartphone
More than need of Detox I feel lack of a system to consume random information. All networks weather Google+ or Facebook or Twitter want to lock users in their restricted systems. You can't always get news in your favorite network because posting to a variety of protocols is not so much feasible for content providers. Frequency of news also increase as networks get bigger and bigger.

Also I am trying to get into Android development which makes it a necessity for me to follow various news portals to stay top of the next big thing.

donniezazen··on Nadella as Microsoft CEO: A slap in the face for Indian system
It reminds me of the article published a few days ago on why the author doesn't trade in stocks. The reason was following.

    "It's going to go up!"
I say same is true for India. India hasn't reached it's high yet.
donniezazen··on Game Developers Are Trolling the Makers of Candy Crush With Other "Candy" Games
I can't say I sympathize with King.com. I always find it annoying when creative folks use IP laws.
donniezazen··on Introducing Paper
So mobile is winning.
donniezazen··on Google's updated Java coding guidelines
Have you taken time to think that we might not be at that stage to technological revolution?
donniezazen··on Coursera blocks access to students in Cuba, Iran, Sudan and Syria
This will not only fail but both antagonize and radicalize youth in those countries.
donniezazen··on Google to Buy Artificial Intelligence Startup DeepMind for $400M
Getting 2 degrees sounds like way too much work. How about reading a plenty of books and research papers?

What do you mean by symbolic or sub-symbolic?

donniezazen··on Google to Buy Artificial Intelligence Startup DeepMind for $400M
How do you know if you are talented enough to pursue an intricate field like Artificial Intelligence? Or is it merely a lot of hard work?
donniezazen··on Linux server monitoring tools
Could anyone please explain why top shows one instance of Chrome while htop shows numerous stances of it?
donniezazen··on WebODF: Add ODF Support to your website, mobile or desktop app
Sorry if I was not clear. I meant to say that businesses should rely more on open document formats than on Microsoft's proprietary formats.
