Wordpress + AI tho?
dnnddidiej··on Evolving Webflow for the Agentic Web
I'd love the various fired people this year to form a new huge company.
dnnddidiej··on Go: Support for Generic Methods
Can we have Exception monads? Asking for friend.
dnnddidiej··on Warm up your MacBook (2019)
For those without spacebar heating?
dnnddidiej··on Show HN: Claude Code's $200 plan is a 17× subsidy on the raw API
Subsidy? Sound more like raw API is just expensive.
dnnddidiej··on SimCity 3k in 4k (2025)
Not only that this is so dangerous. Back off, and let the idiots idiot.

That said, probably don't want to discuss other weird posts for each HN submission!

dnnddidiej··on I think Anthropic and OpenAI have found product-market fit
Sure. Is CAD going to be used by every working human?
dnnddidiej··on I think Anthropic and OpenAI have found product-market fit
His point is more he was surprised enterprises weren't getting the discount. And so indeed maybe it is not a giant ponzi after all! (Could be a bubble)
dnnddidiej··on I think Anthropic and OpenAI have found product-market fit
Is PMF enough. It is such a dynamic self-disrupting wave that it is like predicting physical chaos. These aren't early Googles in a blue ocean. Maybe a blue ocean full of pirates and dragons!

This isn't me being a doomer I just don't know. Can we look at Q2 profits and draw hockey sticks yet?

Remember people are boasting how much their expenses are. That is where we are in the bubble/new paradigm.

dnnddidiej··on Tech CEOs are apparently suffering from AI psychosis
Pyschosis? Do they mean just crap at critical thinking?
dnnddidiej··on Amdahl's Law for LLM generated code
Yep. AI is a freeway. But there is still bumper traffic in the city at the end of it.

Or like your 1 hour flight has 1 hour to check in etc.

dnnddidiej··on Ask HN: What game have you replayed more times than any other?
Slither.io
dnnddidiej··on The worst job interview I ever had
Non zero chance you make a friend by citing the list! Or you get the boot. Especially when the Atlas Shrugged reading startup founder is deciding.
dnnddidiej··on The worst job interview I ever had
Hmmm. Maybe overindexing on anecdata. Did that one guy go a bit crazy once?

I think you gotta trust adults to be adults.

dnnddidiej··on The worst job interview I ever had
Or at uni, at work-likes (volunteering, toastmasters etc.). It has to be in the pursuit of a commercial-like goal really. But yeah avoid friends, family, travel, pets...
dnnddidiej··on Ask HN: How do you prepare to tech interview? Any tip and tricks?
Hate to say it because it is cliche but just a lot of practice. Find out the kind of interviews you are doing using levels.fyi, glassdoor.com, etc. or ask the recruiter. Then find online material to practice (or LLM - my last interview was pre good LLMs so didn't do much with AI but this time I would).
dnnddidiej··on What color is your function? (2015)
Probably you are right except for some pathological scenarios. Threads and green threads and models where you have have 10000s of threads and not even hit the cardio fat burning zone.
dnnddidiej··on What color is your function? (2015)
I am so happy I have never heard anyone IRL say colored functions. It would annoy me. The concept is interesting but like all engineering it is a trade off. In Node amd Go you don't get a choice anyway. In C# you might choose based on performance thinking of thread pools etc IIRC.

When programming in Node I find in practice async and "colored functions" no issue especially with async await. Except for performance issues they come with sometimes but not at a programming level.

dnnddidiej··on The user is visibly frustrated
In this case to learn the tool. Then project could be anyrhihg. It could be a small CLI utility you dreamed of having for example. A k9s-like to replace those crappy guis you deal with at work maybe?
dnnddidiej··on The user is visibly frustrated
It is like tbe pottery parable. Try 100 times on a low stakes project for tacit experience. Get better at it. Then use in prod. In prod - obviously you will have more guardrails and you would probably review all code.
dnnddidiej··on The user is visibly frustrated
Maybe try vibe coding. Seruously. It is a different beast now and so much better than even when the term was coined by Andrej.

I do a lot of work editor-free. Just an agent and PR review on web. Occasional peak with `code .` if needed. If.

Try it at home first with a low stakes project. And learn it like a game. It will suck less as time goes on. Like skiing or 10 pin bowling.

dnnddidiej··on GitHub Actions down again today
It is a control pain
dnnddidiej··on A successful Japanese trial of a ramjet engine designed for Mach‑5 aircraft
Wait 20 years to save a few hours :)
dnnddidiej··on What we lost when we stopped letting kids leave the front yard
Plans don't survive contact with the enemy and all that!
dnnddidiej··on What we lost when we stopped letting kids leave the front yard
I suspect there is some sense of the kids helping each other and looking out for each other. It may not seem like it at the time lol.
dnnddidiej··on What we lost when we stopped letting kids leave the front yard
Surburbia gets a bad rap but you can have your burbs and something for kids to do. You need regular buses or trains, footpaths and parks with skateparks etc. My preteen kids get a bus up to (checks map...) 20km away.

It would be cool to live in a very dense Tokyo kind of place though. Tokyo is like a playground it is awesome!

dnnddidiej··on Gnutella: A Protocol Outliving the World That Created It
Does that matter in terms of the software. It is GPL. Shows how good GPL is as an idea. Even if he went heavy pro big tech his code can still be used.
dnnddidiej··on Gnutella: A Protocol Outliving the World That Created It
Is Bittorrent connected to this. Isn't that still going strong?
dnnddidiej··on California moves to exempt Linux from its age-verification law after backlash
Sounds like any GPL and perhaps other licences. Not just Linux.
dnnddidiej··on Microsoft pulls plug on plans for 244-acre data center in Caledonia (2025)
