dnevogt12··on SaaS Pricing: Our Big Free Plan Mistake
Yeah, we now have a 15$ option. You are correct, this is something we realized after getting started. The 15$ plan is in fact now our most popular plan.
dnevogt12··on SaaS Pricing: Our Big Free Plan Mistake
I'm the author of this post and yes, this is exactly what we found. All I can do is speak from experience in selling a B2B app that is priced at $5 a month / user (I can see how this would be different for different pricing models), but what we found was that these were not the users that were talking about the app and spreading the word for us.

RE: collect credit card up front... This is one of the next tests we are going to set up in our on-boarding process. Right now we don't bill the cc (or ask for it) up front.

dnevogt12··on Startup Analytics: Why and How We Use Mixpanel
Mixpanel has helped us a lot, but not totally happy... Kiss seemed to have some things that Mixpanel doesn't and I still feel like Mixpanel doesn't provide 100% visibility into what's going on.

This has been awesome for our company - curious what others think of this type of strategy. I could see this working well especially if people were able to comment and interact with the companies.

dnevogt12··on Ask HN: [Google Rankings] You've got $5k to spend, where do you put it?
Yeah this makes a lot of sense. Thank you. Will check out Alexa SEO audit and start there. We're also going to try to promote some of our content to leaders in the space and hopefully that will produce a natural link profile.

Awesome writing style, and great examples of what it's like to build a startup in the trenches.
dnevogt12··on Public Revenue / Stats Dashboard for Hubstaff (saas time tracking software)
I'd love to know what the community thinks about these stats (our churn is a little high right now - working through it!)

dnevogt12··on Test your startup idea: A list that took me 8 years to develop
Yeah talent has been massive for us as well. Probably the single biggest reason we are where we are.
dnevogt12··on Test your startup idea: A list that took me 8 years to develop
There are some things that I wish I had done differently for sure. Namely looking at competitor price points and understanding the impact that would have on the business.
dnevogt12··on Challenge: Can we build a company to 10k MRR in 90 days starting from scratch?
interesting, we run a remote company and that is our main market currently so that could be a great fit and really good for us.
dnevogt12··on Challenge: Can we build a company to 10k MRR in 90 days starting from scratch?
Cool thank you both for the comments and feedback - will let you know what comes with it. Great advice, I'll bring this around again when ready to roll.
dnevogt12··on How Important Is Support in a Startup?
Yeah, I have not found the pricing to be too bad at all actually because if you consider what you pay for other email services in addition to everything else it can do, it comes out to be less.
dnevogt12··on How we increased traffic by 215%
@lazylizard - we do time tracking and staffing. Here's a link to time tracking and the homepage - https://hubstaff.com
dnevogt12··on Building a Better Virtual Team
