Has everyone forgotten http://maps.google.com? From what I can tell you can get transit direction from their website and even place a shortcut to your Home Screen.
In case anyone is wondering it appears you can only upload from their APIs right now. I wonder if they intend to make it accessible through their web interface at any point?
Really think he's missing the part where laypeople will see the Mac App Store as their main portal for software. Sure us geeks will always know what the best option is, but what about from a common majority consumer's perspective?

How do we change these behaviors if we don't lead users to it as an industry? Do you want to make the web a better place or just raise your conversion rate? I don't know if there is a "right" answer.
I'll be impressed if this sort of freeform perspective mechanic translates into entertaining gameplay. Seems like that sort of mechanic would be too flexible in a manner that would be detrimental to gameplay.
