djanogo··on New Year, New CEO
I was wondering the same, what if this is to avoid conflict with monetization of Mobilecoin.
djanogo··on Tabby – A Terminal for the Modern Age
Easy pass. I wonder what the reasoning is for creating this, Hi native hosting apps for shell are so small and fast, and have simple dependencies, lets use code base from one of the worlds most complicated and biggest apps with constantly changing code to create a "app" with colors from latest google trends and call it modern.

IMO apps based on browser framework need to die.

djanogo··on MikroTik RouterOS v7 stable released
Having owned UDM for over a year with auto update off, they never pushed any forced update, I always do it manually every few months. Based on number of updates[1] that they push I can totally give them benefit of doubt that it was a bug.

They have dozens of products which they update constantly, picking one bug at one time as malice and blacklisting a company is not correct. If you go that route you won't have any company left to buy from.

Unify Dream Machine, it's constantly out of stock, you have to keep checking Ubiquiti website to get it. It has cloud access which is used by app to monitor or control it from outside of your house, but you can disable it.
djanogo··on Ikea Vindriktning Air Quality Sensor Review and Accuracy
Playing devil's advocate, this device is obviously made for mass market($11.99), what if the WHO/AQI "Good" numbers are too hard to achieve for general consumers?, the buyers of this device might be venturing into clean air for the first time and the last thing they want to see is "orange/red" ALL the time.
djanogo··on Smart Homes Alter Human Behavior
ecobee has all the options you are complaining about, min compressor/furnace time, temp deviation, thresholds, and lot more settings.

Hope posts like these (without any details about product and asking for emails) get people banned, it's obvious bunch of them are up voting this to get to front page.
djanogo··on FBI's ability to legally access secure messaging app content and metadata [pdf]
I switched to signal and got few people to switch too, then they started their shit coin(MOB). IMO Signal Messenger is just a way for that company to reach their shit coin goals. Uninstalled and never recommending that again.
djanogo··on 2021 Tesla Model Y review: Nearly great, critically flawed
He is talking about adaptive cruise control, which is a standard feature in 20k cars now(called ACC on Honda Civic or TSS 2 on Toyota Corolla).

"A $70,000 car that can't even do cruise control is inexcusable and so, for now at least, I must recommend against the Model Y."

djanogo··on Why thieves love to steal catalytic converters
You should provide proof of actual law/bill, penal code and case law where what you claim was applied before posting bigoted comments on entire state.

Edit: Did you even bother to read the law before you commented?, the first fkin line, and (b), Line (1) burden of proof is on the defendant, not the prosecution, it will be judged by his peers. The (2) will fail if protestors are on allowed/blocked road ways and will only apply if protestors are illegally on non-permitted road ways.

(1) the person operating the motor vehicle was exercising due care; and (2) the person injured was blocking traffic in a public right-of-way while participating in a protest or demonstration. (b) This section does not affect a person's liability for an injury caused by grossly negligent conduct.

djanogo··on Why thieves love to steal catalytic converters
Texas recently passed bill(House Bill 4110) making this crime a felony, I wonder if this will make it easier for owners to be covered under Sec. 9.42 code which will let owners use deadly force against anybody who is under your car or running away with your converter during night time.

Texas is 2nd highest in US for this crime, somebody is gonna pay with their life for this crime.

djanogo··on I Was Illegally Fired for Trying to Unionize Tesla
"Yeah, I am not crazy" ... "I learned this from the show" - Pick one. Like other commenters said he provides VERY biased view of any issue that he covers.

If you want to understand laws of _other_ countries you would have understand lot more laws and precedents for those laws.

Anything you "learn" from drive by political skit is garbage.

djanogo··on Republicans shift from positive to negative view of tech and large corporations
I couldn't find exact questions that were asked which leads me to doubting their statistics for colleges, colleges provide wide variety of education, if the participants perception of college is only applicable to non-engineering fields then I would see religious bias in their answers.

If the question explicitly asks about their perception of science and engineering degrees in college I would imagine every corner of the world would vote positively.

djanogo··on Iranian nationals charged with interfering in the 2020 US presidential election
"campaign seems to be pro-Trump", or the more obvious reason that if you mail this to lot of people one of them will report to media (or FB or Twitter or gov) to make pro-Trump people look bad.
djanogo··on Will real estate ever be normal again?
Ya, you saved because you are living single, and _assuming_ you have no kids as you live in 1 BR.

Rest of the population have family's, and have to care where and how their children grow up.

djanogo··on Your phone app has an email client (as well)
Do you know how authentication works for this client?, does the carrier verify mobile number by using network information?
djanogo··on You shall not pinch to zoom: Rittenhouse trial judge disallows basic iPad
Having watched the trial they had very good reason to disallow this, the enlargement in this case was of critical importance (angle of gun) and the expert testified how different algorithms might fill in pixels, he explained how bicubic interpolation[1] based enlargement of a frame from a video which was taken by zooming in an iphone.

The video in question was taken from far, in night time, with shadows, and street lights.

djanogo··on Rittenhouse lawyer claims iPad pinch-to-zoom uses AI to fake video footage
Fox news also publishes lot of BS, I consider anything ranked up by Google/Twitter/Youtube or have a "fact checkers" to control narrative be MSM.
djanogo··on Rittenhouse lawyer claims iPad pinch-to-zoom uses AI to fake video footage
Also this BS article fails to mention that both judge and lawyer mentioned that they DO NOT understand the technology and defense attorney said that they had expert look at it and the expert told them about "AI and algorithms", he also apologized for saying "algorithms" incorrectly.

Judge said he has no idea on how this technology works and only mentioned "inserting pixels" because the prior expert who looked at the pictures told them about "inserted pixels".

Judge told prosecutor he is free to bring a expert who can attest to accuracy of video taken with zoomed in iphone and then zoomed in through iPad for display to Jury. Prosecutor also couldn't tell Judge which software they were using to zoom in on iPad.

djanogo··on Rittenhouse lawyer claims iPad pinch-to-zoom uses AI to fake video footage
MSM and prosecutor got screwed over of their narrative by their own witness who disproved it (He said "Correct" for "Kyle shot you AFTER witness pointed gun at Kyle.."), the prosecutor was trying to bring up things that happened 4 months later in front of jury even though judge instructed both parties not to bring up issues that didn't happen during shooting with out prior discussion (without jury).

Other lawyers pointed out correctly that prosecutor is stuck between rock and hard place, the best outcome for him personally would be to get mistrial.

djanogo··on We saved millions in SSD costs by upgrading our filesystem
Can somebody enlighten me on why you would use ZFS for DB?, seems like there would be overlap/conflict of features. The only benefit that I know of would be quick restore to previous state, but how often would you need to restore?
djanogo··on Sono Motors F-1
Seems more like "Stock Photo Motors", can't believe we are in a economy where company's like this can IPO.

djanogo··on Intel Core i5 12600K / Core i9 12900K “Alder Lake” Linux Performance
They already lowered prices today at Microcenter.

djanogo··on Intel Core i5 12600K / Core i9 12900K “Alder Lake” Linux Performance
I agree i5-12600K is the best Intel desktop processor in it's price range for sale right now, this CPU would also force AMD to lower their prices. We should thank Intel for putting this out at this price, otherwise AMD/TSMC would have kept their prices higher.
djanogo··on Pfizer's oral Covid-19 antiviral cuts hospitalization, death by 85%
Your take is completely wrong, OP didn't make it "political", he said Pfizer falsified data and your post confirms that.
djanogo··on Zillow to stop flipping homes, loses more than $550M, lays off 25% of staff
Sold my house at the peek few months back to Zillow, they then sold it about 8% loss last month. The $/sqft price Zillow paid us is THE highest for our city EVER under <1mil price, and the record still stands after 5 months.

Didn't make any sense to us at the time on why Zillow (and also Opendoor) was making such a high offer, the process was very smooth AND fast. Too bad they won't be around.

djanogo··on Computer-1 mini-ITX Chassis
Having built ITX for NAS before I would highly suggest to get a SAMA IM01 mATX case which is almost as small as an ITX case and will let you avoid ITX price premiums on MB's, RAM, and GPX cards. mATX MB's are much cheaper and will give you lot more options.

djanogo··on First Impressions with the Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W
How are people dealing with subpar SD card storage option which is guaranteed to fail if there are ANY consistent writes?

Why don't they add M.2 port?, it would instantly make Pi lot more reliable.
