And if it wasn't for the excellent http://railsforum.com, Rails could have got several thousands more tags on Stackoverflow.

India didn't betray Kashmir. The king of Kashmir (Hari Singh) was a Hindu and wanted Kashmir to be an independent country. But Pakistan wanted Kashmir, so it funded insurgents against Kashmir. When the Kashmir king couldn't face them, he sought India's military help. India agreed on the condition that Kashmir should be annexed to India.
The UN resolution says that India should conduct a free and fair election in the entire Kashmir to know what Kashmiris want (self determination). But for that, Pakistan should surrender its Pakistan-Administered-Kashmir to India and China should surrender Aksai Chin (if it has any population).
Obsession with Kashmir is burning Pakistan more than India.

1. Zen of Python. (since Ruby doesn't adhere to it, it's bad)
2. Python community is less arrogant compared to Ruby community. (painting millions of Ruby programmers with the same brush based on an IRC chat they had)
3. Google loves Python. (is that even a reason?)
4. Zed Shaw said so-and-so against Ruby/Rails which I want to believe/agree. (fan mentality)
2. Agreed that there was mass migration both ways. But consider these things. Islam is the fastest growing religion in India and Muslims make up ~15% of Indian population today, whereas in Pakistan minority population has fallen from ~15% to less than ~2% since independence.
3. Predicted correctly? How do you prove that Indian Muslims are living worse than Pakistanis? A couple of communal riots in India don't prove anything, considering how big India is. Whereas, the daily bombings, drone attacks, ethnic riots in Pakistan don't give encouraging picture about Pakistani Muslims, the very bunch for whom the country was created.
And as I said in another comment below: "Except politically and militarily, Indian Muslims have outperformed Pakistani/Bangladeshi Muslims in all fields. Just take as fundamental as literacy rate. Indian Muslims have better literacy rate (59%) than Pakistani Muslims (50-55%)." To add to that, the richest Muslim in the world is Ajim Premji, an Indian software mogul, not some oil sheikh.
Remember, in China developments happen with more government participation whereas in India developments happen with lesser government participation.
Music schools only (or can only) teach students the compositions of other great musicians.
You've got it completely wrong.
Consumption in China has been rapidly decreasing with respect to GDP. Their consumption was some 55% of GDP in the 90's. Then it came down to 46% around 2000 and now it stands at 34%. [[1]] All the efforts that China made to increase consumption didn't materialise. The fast growing Chinese GDP is only giving an illusion that Chinese people are massively consuming. But that's not true.
On the other hand, the percentage of fixed-investment (roads, bridges etc.) to GDP has been steadily increasing in China. If Jim Chanos is to be believed, the fixed-investment now stands at a whopping 70% of GDP. [[2]] This seems to be the actual lifeline of Chinese economy.
So in order to maintain the GDP growth, China has been recklessly building roads, bridges etc. fuelled by local government debts. [[3]] This has been creating massive bad-loans, over-investments and bubbles. China is building not 'because of' its economy. It is building 'for the sake of' its economy. This won't see a happy ending.

The Indian IT industry is worth $60-75 billion at present. Remember, it's the whole IT industry. BPO sector hardly touches even $20 billion. Given its value, the hype it has earned for more than a decade is ridiculous and unjustified.
India has achieved great strides in other industries in recent years (steel, coal, automobile, textile, agriculture, crafts, jewellery etc.) which should be highlighted and encouraged. Enough of this call-center nonsense.
If one looks at useit.com homepage, what is "Alertbox" to the left supposed to mean? Are they blog posts or articles? If articles, how do they differ from "Reports" below? And in the News section to the right, both the news items and "as seen in the media" are mixed together.
Second, usability isn't a science. So it's vulnerable to criticisms.
Anyone else thinks http://useit.com homepage is almost unusable?
1. Both China and India are placed equal in Corruption Perceptions Index. [1] China needs to worry more because of lack of free-media to expose corruption.
2. How is 8-9% GDP growth of India lot worse than 10-11% GDP growth of China? Keep in mind that India started 13 years later than China in liberalising its economy and lost the first start advantage to China. But that doesn't mean China is inherently superior.
3. India will be left behind only if China continues to grow at double digits forever. Most economists around the world have increasingly become skeptical about China's future growth trajectory.
