But the article does talk about risk of falling too which. seems like a fair logical causation jump that stronger hands = less risk of falling injury. They don't cite that though....
I think they should have used the line from the harvard link they put "these findings highlight the importance of doing regular exercise to maintain strong muscles as you age. "
Instead of factoring in the costs of our actions, engineer ways to lower price and feed more demand -> and thus creating more methane, forest destruction, emissions from feed, huge waste of water, and all the gas shipping it a continent away.
If people won't reduce their beef consumption, maybe we can crispr out some methane (seems not possible just based on chemistry but who knows?). Or maybe just let the real price with externalities lower consumption.
I just looked to double check nothing changed since I last bought something and it looks like the have a customer match but only as a holdout/narrow. Which is weird if true? as in can't upload a list and target those users if i'm reading their page correctly
pushing their s*t redisign and mobile app on us with more feed ads might mean they are trying to push for 1st party data based targeting though
That's amazing you have a friend that will do that.
I recommend it for art too! Especially paintings.
I think your service could add value there in doing manual curation and better cataloging across. Like 'high quality' or search walnut veneer or no cheap fiberboard lol.
Crowd reviews are all gamed now it seems. i would be into some more sources of professional curation.
Financing in general isn't great. Not an easy thing to fix. Personally I'm into having it as a service for low income Americans through USPS. write-off losses or take them out of tax over very long time frames. A few $k with low or no interest + reasonable long ish time to payback would be life saving for a lot of people
I love 'real' furniture (and design) but it's expensive... Furnishing a small sized condo with DWR or similar quality or vintage/antique easily costs $15k+
It's worth it IMHO and there are less expensive quality options too.
There are some good finds like I have a coffee table from CB2. but have to look closely at the materials. Metal & marble. Solid __ wood or real __ veneer not on top of cheap particle crap.
Nice furniture actually retains value. Lasts forever. Can pass it down. I don't think anyone's Ikea Billy is going to last the test of time. But pieces from 200 years ago still sell at auction and some mid century originals go for crazy amounts of money.
Even though I make good money it's still expensive. after buying I spent like 2 years furnishing it fully.
The problem is almost no one can afford nice stuff upfront
and a recurring cycle of poverty
For instance bigger necessities: a nice pair of shoes or boots will last longer and thus cost 3x less over lifetime than cheapos.
But a large % can't afford the upfront cost.
IDK what a solution could be. Maybe all those online pay over 4 months zero interest are filling this need.
But still would need longer terms to afford something substantial.
Plus if those companies are making money it's from fees and debt. just reinforces the cycle with the added dopamine of ooh i get this for free today one click online buying
It is very sturdy feeling. Literally got last week so tbd on long term use I'm optimistic.
Though I had a problem trying to fill the two up at gas station. I'm going to try again I think it was just the pump or card was acting up since it also wouldn't flow into my car.

Should also enforce parking. Great app idea to sell to cities.
IDK maybe have to have two photos _ x _ minutes apart to show it's not just an uber eats for a few mins. photo ticket.
We desperately need to force electric vehicles for the upcoming USPS replacements too.
The funding / reform bill passed, but as far as I can tell it does not mandate or address the fleet. DeJoy said he was replacing with gas. There was a proposed bill but I can't find any recent news on it.
Ridiculous to spend that much money on 100% custom built vehicles that are gas powered.
Which seems like we're trying to do. Which is gross on its own too.
When you count in the externalities of pollution and climate change the amount we pay is cheap (it's still cheap per mile driven and just in general terms we drive giant cars long distances it's crazy...)
We're already spending billions on health effects, lost working lives, and even more on existing damage from climate change.
Biggest missed opportunity is the failed climate bill. I'm not optimistic about the future.
I'm saying that could mean a decent chance of Dems subsidizing fuel temporarily, maybe similar to child tax credit mailed out to families under $50k monthly.
I doubt would get R support unless they put into it vast deregulation as well.
And with inflation might not even be a great idea.
We're going to lose anyways unless something unexpected happens.
(which imho is so gross to play both sides with clear BS like that for money)
Subsidizing gas seems like obvious on paper but fraught with problems especially with inflation (and opposite of what's needed for climate change).
Would love to see federal legalization, or at least decriminalization of marijuana. IDK if only decriminalization would hold up with reconciliation but I think regulating it legalized commerce would.
And sad to say but assuming Roe is gutted/thrown to the states that could galvanize turnout on both sides, hopefully to our benefit. We'll see what games are played with Jackson's nomination too
One point I was trying to make was Russia's actions have galvanized support in the opposite direction Putin wanted.
I don't know why what I contributed is worth downvotes. I provided sources showing a difference in EU support compared to NATO support to parent comment and gave reasonable arguments that even a majority in mid 50s of support does not mean the opposition is -100*-1 it's usually way less.
Turkey comes to mind as the only standout. There is a general trend towards autocracy in the last years in places like that.
Which is sad and a threat to the world imho.
But even Turkey (which is probably the least democratic nato member?) isn't comparable to Russia. looking at a map the rest of NATO all fits in the green shade on the democracy index.
And also just the basic membership requirement: consensus vote by existing members.
So kind of pointless it's trolling from the start.
Plus respecting borders one of the founding principles lol.
Could look at civ control of military too. turkey is super complicated there. the autocrat definitely does not have control, the opposite. Unlike putin. But in turkey that's also scary and no so comforting for collaboration.
Maybe not UBI but anti-prohibition for sure would be cheaper
I guess it's a debate about etymology but coup does not fit reality imho.
That also supposes that the laws were being followed in the first place.
They weren't.
People have a right to chose their government. If the government abuses the people and ignores the rule of law and democracy the people are right to seek better government.
I wanted to get an electric car. But not only do my neighbors not want to split cost of a charger station but also I'd have to pay over 10k to upgrade/fix the electricity - or so I was told.
It seems like it could be even simpler than a heat exchange that I think puts pipes into the ground?
Like it's just creating steam. Can't we just scale up an electric tea kettle? Seems like it would be pretty efficient.
The deal is to avoid an all out confrontation with a quid pro quo so iran doesn't finish; it doesn't erase the knowledge & capabilities they now have.
I would guess if the deal fails Isreal would probably attack again and this time I'm not sure it would be with the US and only digital (and probably more than targeted assassinates too).
I've read that the gas industry uses the cooking specifically in advertising and lobying to keep this toehold for the even bigger emissions. [1]
And 2-3% isn't nothing either. Such an easy win. we desperately need to rack up easy points yesterday...
Relatively as in compared to say utility scale production/storage or hell even replacing home heating like you mention.
I wish we could replace our 110 year old giant cast iron steam heater thing. Would have to either replace all the radiators with electric board things (i hate them) or find an electric boiler (which would have to plasma cut apart the old boiler to get it out lol).
Heat pumps sound cool too but all those options have upfront costs which some of my hoa neighbors can't afford. We couldn't get a loan for other repairs we did with longer term than 3 years.
