There are plenty of jobs where 24/7 operation would be beneficial. Like a road paving crew, or a nighttime security guard. You can pay daytime wages for someone in another timezone.

The root cause is that once Americans move somewhere, a very large portion of them immediately turn around and try to prevent others from moving there, too. So you end up pushing people out to barren places.

As a member of Apollo 13, he flew farther from Earth than any other human being ever has.

He was literally closer to God and the Heavens than anyone else before or since.

I can't help but feel like this is Tesla surrendering their biggest moat (their Supercharger network, and the exclusivity of it) for questionable gain (worse immediate experience for their customers, unsure if additional revenue will outweigh the costs).

But I can't NOT see it as a huge win for accelerating the world's transition to sustainable energy (Tesla's core mission). Brave, bold, and good for the planet. Better for the consumer, who now has two manufacturers' worth of cars to choose from.
