dfar1··on Slack may regret its letter to Microsoft
thank you thank you!
dfar1··on Slack may regret its letter to Microsoft
Can someone link me to a hi-res image.. or do I have to buy the newspaper in order to read the ad?
dfar1··on Microsoft Teams, the new chat-based workspace in Office 365
+1 for adding another great option. The more options the better...

-1 for no shame when coping the design.

dfar1··on Shopping coming to Instagram
Long live fake accounts pretending to be your friend.
dfar1··on Gameroom
PC only. is this 2004?
dfar1··on George Hotz cancels his Tesla Autopilot-like ‘comma one’
It's weird that he would give up on his product after one letter, specially when money is not an issue. Perhaps he already has a buyer for the tech and just wants to move on to something else.
dfar1··on Macbook Pro Touch Bar runs watchOS
Next version touch bar takes half of the bottom, and then eventually we will just have 2 ipads. It's the beginning of the end.
dfar1··on Smartwatch sales are tanking
I've been wanting one but given their prices and longevity I rather just get a nicer phone.
dfar1··on A Man Who Stood Up To Facebook
I hear, in jail, spammers get the same treatment as rapist.
dfar1··on Search Results are officially AMP’d
AMP makes pages fast by forcing you to drop all the website fluff. Most will argue that fluff is not needed on mobile sites (I agree)... but try telling your client that.
dfar1··on Search Results are officially AMP’d
They "hijack" the search result url on any result. If you copy the address from the search result link, you always get a google link. But you could be talking about another url.
dfar1··on Web2Web Bootstrap
might not be able to take the content down, but can't you take the domain down? wouldn't that just have as much impact?
dfar1··on Apple Unveils the Apple Watch Series 2
but gps is a must if you want accuracy.
dfar1··on Introducing free Skype Meetings
As stated... This is only useful for businesses using office 360.

Getting your friends to use skype is as easy getting them to switch to windows phone. I used to have skype to speak with friends abroad, but most have switched to Whatsapp... I now use whatsapp.

dfar1··on Why I have finally taken off the Apple Watch
So next time I take my watch off for less than a month I shall too write an article. Clearly the author didn't need a watch, but bought one anyway. Then as expected didn't use it. Less then a month of not wearing a watch, doesn't seem like long enough either as the watch doesn't do everything the phone does, so there's no need to wear it frequently unless you like having a watch, which is not the case here.

This article almost seems as clickbait... I could also write about how I bought a $500 coffee maker, and stopped using it after 9 months, because I actually don't drink much coffee. I just thought that having a nice coffee maker would improve my life.

dfar1··on Pills: A simple responsive CSS grid for humans
Grids make for fast development but boring websites. I find the design I work with more often break the grid than conform to it.
dfar1··on Crying
The crying post is good, but also the rest of the website. Amazing amount of data.
dfar1··on Netflix Will Be the Exclusive US TV Home of Disney, Marvel, Lucasfilm and Pixar
Exclusive rights is only good for the two people that made the deal.
dfar1··on It’s a Tough Job Market for the Young Without College Degrees
No college? No problem. Google how to make websites and start making websites. There's an infinite number of small businesses, grandpas and grandmas needing a website for whatever reason. Learn html and css, which are probably the easiest languages to know, and you can already start making money. No computer? No problem, go to a public library.
dfar1··on Atari co-founder: mobile games make me want to throw my phone
The problem with mobile games is GOOGLE PLAY STORE and the APP STORE, that only show you 1% of what's out there. This "flat ui" stage of design has removed all functionality of applications that need them. Let me search apps by categories, or filter by price, product, company, developer, date added, date updated, and so on...
dfar1··on Google will warn users when sites contain social engineering ads
This is a good start to solve an old problem. However they need to start filtering out their own ads. I don't know which is easier, catch them before it goes live, or after, but either way... that's something in the right direction.
dfar1··on iPhone SE
So that you can continue to pay for icloud.
dfar1··on Yahoo is shutting down about half of its content verticals
"We know you come to Yahoo because of our distinct voice and unique blend of original content, aggregation and personalization."

That made me lol. They should just keep their gossip columns (half the news on the front-page). The comments on those articles are always entertaining.

dfar1··on A Message to Our Customers
I know that because this is on hacker news, everyone is talking about whether it's possible to access the data, and if possible... how easy or how hard it is. But the focus should be on the whether there should be a clear line/understanding between security and privacy, or should we keep everything black and white as it is now, just looking at extreme cases?

If they cannot co-exist, I'd rather have more security and less privacy. But ideally, I shouldn't have to choose between them.

dfar1··on We Need a Better PC
This article covers one computer brand mostly based on their poor website design... and that's it? That's why we need a better pc?
dfar1··on Do you really need 10,000 steps a day?
We should not dismiss products as Fitbits as being ineffective just because maybe 10k steps is not a valid metric. A little competition and settings of goals is good for everyone.
dfar1··on Lake Poopó, Bolivia's second largest lake, has vanished
I was thinking the same thing. Tons of satellite pictures, no in depth information about the actual problem.
dfar1··on Apple’s declining software quality
Probably hosted on an apple server.
dfar1··on No More Deceptive Download Buttons
It's about time google crack down on these ads. The download button is just one of the many tactics. Any ads that show a guy with biceps three times the size of his head should also be banned. Yahoo is infested with these "sponsored" ads, and pretty much any other site that lives on ads revenue only.
dfar1··on Yahoo to Say It's Exploring Strategic Alternatives
Dear Yahoo,

Remove the fake ads from your home page. Remove the misleading ads from your home page.

Sponsored How To Pay Off Your Mortgage Homeowners are surprised and furious. If you owe less than $625,000 on your home, you better read this.

Remove the ads from your already terrible email service. Remove the gossip columns that you call news and burry them deep where no one can find it. Stop trying to be good at everything, because right now you can't do one thing well. Stop with the ads that take over the whole screen. Stop copying and pasting or embedding content from other sites Stop using these crazy layouts that change all the time. It's impossible to find what you are looking for and it takes forever to load.

Promote content that matters. Assume your audience is intelligent Be creative Be innovative
