devrundown··on Ask HN: What's one small habit you started that surprisingly changed your life?
Yeah I have and I can manage them but I much prefer it on my Kindle. I like being able to control the font size.
devrundown··on Ask HN: How to deal with long vibe-coded PRs?
9000 LOC is way too long for a pull request unless there is some very special circumstance.

I would ask them to break it up into smaller chunks.

Reading. I've never been a huge reader and mainly read non-fiction. I started listening to audiobooks while I walked and that got me interested in books more. Then got a Kindle and started reading more.

From there just got more and more into reading. For some reason I thought you could only read 1 book at a time but that's not true at all. I will have a few on the go at anytime. Just going to the library to sit and read is a nice break from everything. I have so many books I want to read now.

What routine do you do? Is it same everyday?

Great job. The UI is clean and easy to use.

What were your biggest challenges while working on this?

devrundown··on Show HN: bbcli – A TUI and CLI to browse BBC News like a hacker
I always like seeing new TUI tools, nice work!

Thanks for checking it out. I'm using a 3rd party API for all the station info (radio-browser.info) and sometimes the station streams result in that error. You may have just had some bad luck clicking on a few in a row that don't work. I'll try to think of a way to filter those broken ones out.

Makes it easy to search, favourite and listen to online radio streams.

I like to listen to online radio while working and none of the available web apps I could find hit the nail on the head, so decided to build my own.

Good idea, adding that to the back log.

Really appreciate your feedback! The addition of something like a fade transition is a great idea so I'll explore that.

Happy you mentioned export/import because I have thought about that but wasn't sure it was something users would want. But since you mention it and it should be fairly trivial to implement I'll but it on the list.

Thanks for taking the time to check it out and provide feedback, much appreciated!

Thanks! A lot of this project has been to scratch my own itch and the custom stream uploads will be as well. Stay tuned, will hopefully have that implemented shortly.
devrundown··on Ask HN: What are you working on? (September 2025)
Thanks for the feedback. One idea I had is for users to add their own custom streams so I may do this. Stay tuned!

This is cool! Would be very fun to have as an actual hardware device :)

What worked for me (not saying this will work for you but just to give ideas) is I told myself I couldn't do any sort of development for a couple of weeks at the very least. Get off the computer as much as possible and do other things.

I did a lot of walking, listening to and reading books/audiobooks, hanging out in coffee shops, meeting up with friends.

After my self imposed ban from the computer I started to get the itch to develop again and started working on stuff I wanted to work on and not something I was told to develop.

Sorry that you are experiencing this.

It's hard to give advice on this sort of topic because I think it is very personal and everyone has unique circumstances.

Have you considered just taking some time off, potentially focusing on hobbies or personal projects and maybe after some so called "down" time an answer would be more clear?

devrundown··on Show HN: FindReads – I built a site that recommends books by vibe
Nice idea. May I ask what API(s) you are using to get the book info?

Maybe you could also use affiliate links to earn some money.

devrundown··on Ask HN: What are you working on? (September 2025)
Yes all on the road map. Still in soft launch mode so will fix a few of those things before launching :)
devrundown··on Ask HN: What are you working on? (September 2025)
Very nice! Looking forward to when the online stream is available.

Been working on a simple online radio station player. Very early stages but allows users to search for stations, play them and favourite them.

It's up now but still not "prod ready" but feel free to check it out if you like:

Love these! Where did you get the idea? Would love to know more.
devrundown··on Ask HN: What are you working on (September 2025)?
Working on a web based online radio station player. I wanted just a very simple interface for finding, favouriting and playing online radio stations and figured would be easy enough to build one. Will be launched in the next month or so.
devrundown··on Ask HN: What Is Your Hobby?
This is great thanks!

I've been thinking about getting into writing and I'm really not sure where to even start. Did you just dive in? Or did you take any courses, consume resources etc... to learn?
devrundown··on Beam Devs – Your Gateway to the Beam Ecosystem (Elixir, Erlang, Gleam)
I'm familiar with Elixir and Erlang but have not heard of Gleam. Will have to check into it.
