devb0x··on Ask HN: Advice for dealing with a difficult co-worker
back your self up with well written code, committed into a VCS with proper comments. For each one that is rewritten mark those commits somewhere in a list of notes. Discuss each one with him if his check in comment is not clear as to why. When he's right, leave it, when he's being a jerk note it. If all else fails you have documented your reasons. Then go and find a new gig cuz you've done all you can.

Just carry on learning it. Then when you get more experience in other languages you'll understand its short comings. But youll appreciate it for what it is.

centos 6.x at work

devb0x··on Ask HN: Engineers with family, how do you manage it?
Its tough man. When we had our child, tech took a back seat. I worked as I needed to, sometimes a little late but I made family come first. Your wife will need you, family first. As your little one gets older you'll get back to normal, but for now focus where you know you need to focus.

Congrats!

jersey

centos does necessitate that you sometimes pull an rpm from non standard repo's such as EPEL or rpmforge, due to their focus on 'stability'
