I started this project almost a month ago and decided to share my progress from day one.
SwitchFeat is a platform which makes it very simple to manage your feature flags and run a/b tests. I decided to make it completely open-source and self-hosted.
No external servers to connect to, no latency added to your API requests, your data stay within your network!
If you like the idea please add a Star on Github!
That would help me so much to continue the development!
I started working on this project over 2 weeks ago and I think it's coming up pretty nicely!
SwitchFeat is under early stage development and for now I am setting up the overall project structure, putting in place a dashboard, authentication and the data stores.
Once I am done with the foundations, I can start building features on top of it.
Being an open source project, feel free to jump in and contribute!
Here it is the link to the GitHub repo, in case you are interested!
I think this is a market where there is a lot of space for alternatives!
I am also working on a cool UI for it, which will be distributed as a one time payment.
I just published the landing page for TrakrLog!
It is going to be a simple and flexible event tracking service which allows gathering insights from your application via a single http request.
I just open the waiting list in order to validate the idea and see if there is enough interest!
Hope you like it!
In a nutshell skedlo gives you a feed of un-replied mentions that you can reply to straight from the app using the integrated tweet editor.
That amount of access is standard in the twitter api in order to be able to post on user behalf.
I am using Unity game engine for the development.
Being solodev is really challenging at times, but I try keeping a consistent schedule to keep the game progress constant.
If you like the idea consider wishlist! And join the discord server to follow the development!
The API can extract normalized metadata from any website from HTML tags, JSON-LD and Open Graph, all in a simple JSON response.
Wibbly can also extract any content from a website adding custom selection rules to the API request. I called this fetaure Selective Query and allows to provide selective rules in a simple format, straight into the GET request. More info here: https://www.wibbly.co/docs#selective-query
I just launched so any feedback onj the service would be highly appreciated!
Keen to know your feedback!
Also, I am not trying to compete with MaxMind, they are too big to even try that. All the additional datapoints I expose are meant to help customers to protect and enrich their website and services.
On top of it, the API supports, security datapoint which exposes proxies, tor nodes, crawlers.
The API also supports additional datapoints, like timezones, currency, ASN data and Company data.
Not really a Maxmind frontend after all ;)
Would you be interested in giving AstroIP a try?
I really like your website, it is full of very useful IP related info, and I like how you are showing a real-time comparison between geolocation services.
Which GeoIP service are you using for the website itself?
Using Maxmind for now allows me to have the API up and in the meantime working on building my own source of geo data.
I will look into this CORS issue. Thanks for pointing that out.
What you think of the service overall?
The downside of having a local library, would be that the actual user agents db and any data used to generate the results would be stored locally.
I would say that providing a fast, cloud based API, would simplify the developer experience.
