denishennessy··on Ask HN: Successful one-person online businesses?
I'm really happy to find this (honestly, I haven't been looking that hard in the past - just assuming that spreadsheets were the best approach). The site looks really polished - well done.
denishennessy··on Ask HN: Freelancer? Seeking freelancer? (May 2018)
SEEKING WORK | Remote | iOS or macOS

Hi, I’m a long-term iOS freelancer who’s been developing for iOS since 2009. I’ve worked on several high-profile client apps (including several featured by Apple).

I can help with:

* Building a launch app quickly

* Helping with design or code review

* Improving development practices like CI pipelines or unit testing

I’m most comfortable with Swift or Objective-C but also have experience building back-end servers in Ruby or Java.

Check out some of my previous work here: http://www.peerassembly.com/portfolio.html

denishennessy··on Zerigo terminates annual plans mid-way to jack rates 19x
They charged me $39 for annual service 4 days ago. Then today they mailed me to tell me that the 'new' rate was $756/year and I would have to pay the extra or cancel the service.

Of course, there's an app for that - http://focustimeapp.com

(disclaimer: I wrote the app)

denishennessy··on encryption is not gravy
Unlike BoxCryptor, it's not based on an encrypted volume. Instead, files and directories in a designated folder are individually encrypted (much like Dropbox).
denishennessy··on encryption is not gravy
I'm launching a product shortly that offers exactly this feature to Dropbox (or Google Drive, SkyDrive, ...). It's a native OSX and Windows app that keeps the keys on the users' computer and transparently encrypts and decrypts files before they're sent to your cloud storage provider.

The product is in beta right now but I'd love some more people to try it out. If you sign up at http://safeboxapp.com, you'll get a download link to try it out.

denishennessy··on Rate my startup: SafeboxApp.com
I agree that it's a risk, but they haven't done it so far. Even if they did, Safebox might still be useful for people using other cloud storage providers (or even corporate file shares).
denishennessy··on Technical Cofounder's Pie
Ask yourself how much time you'll need to invest (up to when it becomes self-sustaining). Multiply that be a reasonable hourly rate. Compare that the the $$$ + time the other founder is investing.
