debarshri··on Cybersec is a thankless job: expanding workload and shrinking pay packet
I am building in cybersec space. I dont think you even need script kiddies now. Internal employees run dangerous bad ops with AI that itself is a cybersec nightmare.
debarshri··on Microsoft and OpenAI end their exclusive and revenue-sharing deal
I saw a founder make decisions based on what openai, claude was recommending all the time. I think all leaders, founders etc Will converge on same decisions, ideas, features etc. I think form factor of AGI is probably not what we expect it to be. AGI is probably here, we just dont know it or acknowledge it.

Airgapped is a different concept altogether.
debarshri··on A web-based RDP client built with Go WebAssembly and grdp
This concept is related to PAM. You often have to do ops on infra and need some DMZ to do the ops. In regulated industry you have to record every operations done by the person and have to follow principle of least privilege. This what should happen in an ideal world.

I am not sure if you have tried broadcasting feature in terminals, thats magical too.
debarshri··on A web-based RDP client built with Go WebAssembly and grdp
We have a custom RDP client [1]. So i have some experience building something like this. We do some an implementation similar to this.

Clipboard sharing, uploading and downloading via shared drive is a freerdp feature that should be readily available.

We also have sessions recording which is non-negotiable in PAM.

debarshri··on Show HN: Browser Harness – Gives LLM freedom to complete any browser task
I think the usecase here is to go beyond scraping. I think you can use it as a tool for agent harnesses and make it part of a larger workflow.
debarshri··on Scoring Show HN submissions for AI design patterns
I always ask it to use tailwind with shadcn. Then you get a generic UI which will not pass as AI generated.
debarshri··on Scoring Show HN submissions for AI design patterns
I think this is a second order thing when you are building a side project.
debarshri··on Turn your best AI prompts into one-click tools in Chrome
How can you try this out?
debarshri··on An AI Vibe Coding Horror Story
I believe there are various dimensions to vibe coding. If you work with an existing codebase, it is a tool to increase productivity. If you have domain specific knowledge, in this case - patient management system, you can build better systems.

Otherwise, you endup simulating the production. Lot of the non technical folks building products with AI Vibe coding are basically building Product Simulations. It looks like a product, functions like a product but behind the scene, you can poke holes.

debarshri··on We've raised $17M to build what comes after Git
I dont this wisdom can be applied generically. Lets consider your example, if leader or founder comes across the fact that a river is getting polluted whether it makes profit or not, they will not take that decision as it would impact longer term.

What you are mixing is founder led business vs ceo led business. CEO often takes a short term view, when stakeholders are PE Firm, wall street, short term gains are prioritized. But for, a long term investor, would not incentivize you to take calls that would harm in long run.

What could be wrong is that, you wouldnt know all the consequences and causality of your decisions and thats very human thing in my opinion.

debarshri··on We've raised $17M to build what comes after Git
If the business is not growing well and VC invests money. I think that gambling and not true venture capital.
debarshri··on We've raised $17M to build what comes after Git
I am twice your age so i would assume i have some wisdom here.

Flex often dont translate to value. I often say dont look at what others are doing, head down focus and execute. Raising capital is actually the starting point, i would say it is not an achievement.

I think anyone can network. You dont have to be sales person, you have the increase your probability to be in the right place at the right time.

debarshri··on We've raised $17M to build what comes after Git
VC by default are founder friendly in my experience.

If you find a greedy VC then most likely they are real VC and often gets attracted when your business is not doing great.

Reputation travels in this industry therefore people care.

debarshri··on We've raised $17M to build what comes after Git
Thing i learned about raising capital it, you need to build or have a network. Thats YC is great, accelerators, incubators help you do that. Network and story you tell. Also, every stage you raise, you have to make sure the folks you raise from help you craft the narrative for thr next round.

I think if you have a healthy busy growing well, you shouldnt raise unless you have ambition and urge to go faster.

Irony of thr market is, just like tinder 20% of the companies attract all the attention rest of them try to gran the attention. Those who need capital get the capital, those who need the capital die trying.

Enough friday pessimisim.

debarshri··on We moved Railway's frontend off Next.js. Builds went from 10+ mins to under 2
Moving to vite + tanstack builds faster is also a fact.

debarshri··on Federal Cyber Experts Called Microsoft's Cloud "A Pile of Shit", yet Approved It
Amazon is selling servers and storage. If you need to see logs properly, then get a right tool for it. Cloudwatch is a stop gap solution.

Recently tried using Entra ID. There are 12 ways to enforce MFA, 20 days ways to disable users, 4 ways to authenticate users, Add conditional access stuff with 50 variables and templates etc.

You can customize the way you want. After configuring it, my colleagues could not log in. Thats one way to secure your organization.

debarshri··on Google closes deal to acquire Wiz
Google SecOps (Chronicle) is becoming quite popular among the cybersec world. I think eventually there should be an integration play. It is also a way to create wedge into AWS and Azure customers.
debarshri··on Launch HN: Terminal Use (YC W26) – Vercel for filesystem-based agents
I think Kubernetes is a good candidate to run these sandboxes. It is just that you have to do a lot of annotations, node group management, pod security policies, etc., to name a few. Apply the principle of least privilege for access to mitigate risk.

I think Kata containers with Kubernetes is an even better sandboxing option for these agents to run remotely.

Shameless plugin here but we at Adaptive [1] do something similar.
