History of the HiFi product this was built up from here: http://blog.roonlabs.com/what-a-journey/
I always wanted to post our product on https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=7629177 "My Quest to Build the Ultimate Music Player" We solve almost every concern posted, especially about music metadata organization.
Any questions? We want to hear your issues with music software.
Unlike the people who can't figure out why this is better than IRC, I find a ton of value in your project. After leaving Campfire, moving to Kato, and then settling with Slack, I am really unhappy with the Slack mobile experience.
It does what you said. We never took this anywhere, but it does work, and on retina displays, it's really pretty.
Launch the Flash simulation, click on Tychonian, and trace a planet. Venus is unexpected.

OXO Good Grips Brushed Stainless Steel Ladle Sold by Amazon.com LLC (Amazon.com) $9.99
HP, ignoring the disaster that they are, really were headed down the right path. A tiny phone, a large phone, and a tablet. Over the years, you could totally see that large phone getting larger and the tiny phone getting even smaller. Great for both me and you. Too bad they went and screwed everything up.
I agree, it is very cheap feeling, but it also feels thin and snug because it is a useless piece of shell.
You know, ideally, it'd be paper thin, but just as effective as holding in the battery/sim.
The GSM model overseas is Google-official, it's just not here now and who knows when it will be. I got mine from Expansys, it came with English everything as well as a US plug.
The Nexus unified the filesystem, and therefore cant give USB block-level access. MTP was the only way to go unless you want to have a separate partition, which leads to the terrible 'is the app on local or on sd?' situation.
Here is the situation described: http://www.electronista.com/articles/11/11/19/galaxy.nexus.f...
For mac users, you want this tool: http://www.android.com/filetransfer/
After having the Galaxy Nexus for 2 weeks, the phone no longer feels large in my hands, but the Nexus S it replaced looks ancient and pathetically tiny/low-resolution.
The GSM model also happens to be pentaband 3g, so it works with TMobile and AT&T in the US. I've been using mine on TMobile for 2 weeks now, bought for about $730 from Expansys.
And yes, it is awesome. Just make sure you unlock the bootloader immediately, so you dont have to wipe it later if you choose to unlock then.
I love vim because it is the best. I can't use anything else because nothing else works like it.
I hate vim because it has stopped advancing. It has not had a good update for 5 years.
May 7, 2006 7.0 Spell checking, code completion, tab pages (multiple viewports/window layouts), current line and column highlighting, undo branches, and more
May 12, 2007 7.1 Bug fixes, new syntax and runtime files, etc.
August 9, 2008 7.2 Floating point support in scripts, refactored screen drawing code, bug fixes, new syntax files, etc.
August 15, 2010 7.3 Lua support, Python3 support, Blowfish encryption, persistent undo/redo
We are all still waiting for various types of extensibility, even though they been in the top 5 sponsored requests for over almost 15 years. I normally wouldn't be complaining about free software, but vim is donationware.
purple/magenta != pink
pink != all - green
pink == red + some more of everything else (white)
we do not see x rays, gamma rays, etc, as "pink"
I realize that hobbyists would prefer free, but that's ok, since Berkelium is open enough that they can fix it.
Our product is far too expensive right now for most people. We are in the middle of executing a plan to create a budget appliance and a free piece of software to expand past our current markets. This requires some additional features that must be implemented to ensure success (social features, offline mobile players, more 'remote control' on devices people already own, etc..).
When we started, it was not possible to bring our product to the masses because the computer resources required to create a great experience were not common place. Thats why we built an appliance. The last 2 generations of hardware have been capable, so it's now possible to bring our vision to the masses.
We are hiring 4 developers, and here are some of the things we would like to see in developers:
c# (msft on windows & mono on osx, linux) opengl (windows and osx) c/c++ linux social networking experience server side experience client app experience ui sensibilities design sense iphone/ipad android a passion for music
The above are nice to haves, and not requirements. Smart, experienced, and passionate development history is more important.
Our work environment is very focused on fast execution, while providing a great lifestyle. Our team is spread out over the globe (NYC, SF, Bangkok, UK) and tiny (3 developers + 2 designers). We live inside the Meridian Audio umbrella, but we are responsible for the Sooloos line. You would work wherever you wanted to live. We have a small concentration in NYC, but NYC is not a requirement. Our management style is very relaxed and it will require you to be great while not being micromanaged. You must be a great communicator (in English), especially online. Fast typing and familiarity with online communication mechanisms is required.
We will also hire consultants to do a few projects we have been able to isolate as good for short term consultancy work.
You can read about our existing products in many reviews on the internet. Here are a few:
