Equium claims that the heat pump system is completely silent, despite the use of a speaker to generate the acoustic wave. The level of noise is reportedly lower than 30 dB – the equivalent of a whisper.
“The sound our system produces stays confined inside the core, so you cannot hear it from outside,” said Loyer.
I wonder how this idea will age. I haven't been to a bank branch in so long. Hell, I've written 5 checks in the last 2 years. I deposit the rare check with my phone or ATM. Why would I want to go to a branch? I took out my last mortgage with my credit union and still never when in the branch. My 20-something daughter never considered branch locations at all when picking her new bank.
I guess I am confused a little. Are park rangers or maintainers actually going through "wild" areas and removing the carcasses? Why? I am not sure I would even think of such an area as "wild" then. Heck, I'm not sure how you would even keep up with doing that.
There is something obviously wrong or at least strange with the data that backs that map. Look at the contrast across the border between Tennessee and Georgia or between West Virginia and Virginia. I think some states must be under-reporting things or reporting them differently. I would expect such a map to track poverty maps or unemployment maps, but it does not.
Wow. I did not realize it was time for the yearly Cyc article again. Cycorp has been a thing for a long time, but I think history has shown that the path Doug and Cyc have taken is not the way forward.
I guess I was dreaming last Friday when I saw the Google self-driving car pass by twice on the same route, at 10:30pm. I even handled a stop with very limited visibility on one side like a champ. If anything, I think self-driving cars will end up driving like my Grandma, but probably safer.
A lot of that would presumably have already been read by students taking this class, especially the Shakespearian tragedies and Moby Dick and perhaps Dante's Inferno.
