Also, about SSH - it is still better to block the bad actors before you process the request. I've seen occurances where the network was saturated bots trying to brute force.
Wired has nice article about their efforts going https https://www.wired.com/2016/04/wired-launching-https-security...

ubuntu developers take all effort to give you a userspace with everything working together, but there simply far too many choices of hardware which will break things.
I've a skylake laptop - power management sucks in all distro because kernel hasn't caught up yet[1]
I use a broadcom wifi chip which just got their firmware merged into mainline.
I don't know how *BSDs can import support for all shiny new hardware as they are launched. (Disclaimer: I have a thinkpad edge 2010 that runs openBSD happily)
But they do allow you use spotify anywhere from the world if you have premium.
1. Spotify - doesn't allow you to buy premium (which is availble worldwide) if you have a non-US credit card.
2. Apple Music - is available, but I use a linux laptop.
3. Rdio - shutdown.
The vast majority of preference of the the people how they enjoy their music makes put "friendliest DRM" in the leagues of Unicorns.
