daybreaker2··on Thanks to Bookshop, indies stand a chance against Amazon
How do you figure the bookstore only got $1.80?

Bookstores get 30% of every sale. Yes, it's still not as much as the 40-45% they get normally, but unless the book you bought was only $6, the bookstore got more than $1.80.

and at github's scale at that.
daybreaker2··on Show HN: Instagram-scraper – Scrape instagram photos by tags, without API
"But you agreed to this scraping when you signed the terms and conditions"

I agree with you, but technically that argument is true

And as for Google, in theory a robots.txt would block their scraper.

Because he needs it wrapped in a promise, sending a resolve/reject?

daybreaker2··on How ACH works: A developer perspective – Part 2
Writing NACHA exports for an online banking loan repayment system was the worst. Being a Junior Dev at the time, and having my only guidance being a NACHA handbook, with no banking experts to actually explain things, knowing millions of dollars per year would go through the app... Man. Terrifying.

I've attended other codemkrs hackathons in New Orleans, and theyre always pretty fun. At least from a dev's point of view, the endless supply of food and soft drinks is awesome. It doesnt hurt that I've won prizes at a few of them.
daybreaker2··on MLB.com is using my Google Analytics code
"Wow, what a coincidence... we just happened to randomly generate a google analytics ID that was the exact same as the one used on a scratchpad plugin that we copied the code from..."
