datamine007··on Show HN: LeadSynth – Capture leads at the exact moment they're looking
One thing we learned quickly: speed matters more than perfect copy.

The first helpful response often wins simply because the buyer is still deciding. Later replies aren’t bad they’re just late.

That insight changed how we think about distribution entirely.

Hey HN,

I built LeadSynth AI after realizing cold outreach is broken. 0.5% response rates, spam filters, burned domains—it's a mess.

The shift: Instead of interrupting strangers, find people already asking for help.

How it works:

Monitors Reddit, X, LinkedIn 24/7 for buying signals

Detects intent ("looking for," "need help with," "recommendations")

AI agents engage with contextual replies automatically

Starts warm conversations while you sleep

The results:

40% response rate vs 0.5% for cold email 230+ users in 3 months Zero ad spend (the product sells itself) Users sign up at 3am because agents never sleep

Example:

Someone posts "best tool for B2B lead gen?" at 2am → Agent replies by 2:15am with value → They sign up by morning.

Not cold outreach. Warm engagement at the right moment.

Built for: Founders tired of manual prospecting who want outcomes, not more tools to manage.

Happy to answer questions about the tech stack, intent detection, or how we avoid being spammy.

Hi HN!

I built LeadSynth AI to automatically find potential customers from Reddit conversations. Then

I had a crazy idea: what if I used it to promote itself?

The experiment: Instead of posting "Show HN" and hoping for the best, I fed LeadSynth AI its own use case: "Find founders struggling with customer acquisition and lead generation."

9 days later:

1,500+ visitors 30 active users Still working on converting to paid customers Zero cold emails sent Zero ads run

How it works:

You describe your product/solution, and it surfaces Reddit posts where people are discussing related problems. For LeadSynth, it found posts like:

"I've been manually checking 15 subreddits daily for 3 months looking for customers..." "Spending $2K/month on lead gen tools but still getting low-quality prospects" "Anyone know how to find people actually talking about problems my product solves?"

Instead of pitching, I'd join conversations with genuine advice, then casually mention the tool. The meta insight:

People don't buy products on Reddit - they buy outcomes. The tool finds conversations where people are already discussing pain points rather than interrupting them with ads.
