Sounds like you've got some personal issues getting in the way of a good idea from Zed. The OSS community has taken the world by storm exactly because of coders like him who donated their time and vision to create systems that now power trillion dollar economies around the world. The web didn't build itself - and the good stuff certainly was not built- by those with only a commercial interest.

All he's asking is that some, especially the ones who are profiting from it and can afford it, donate a little something back.

You're totally right, the daily slog is tough, but the spurts of success or the rush of failure make it worthwhile. If we wanted safety, we'd get a 9 to 5.

But also from personal experience, when I drink a lot of cups per day for several days, my shall remain nameless parts start feeling odd. Doesn't really start till you're in your 30s and later though.

The second EBHN meetup is going to be this Wednesday, starting at 7:30, at the David Brower Center (http://bit.ly/9N82Kj)! Not to be a Danny Downer- because I love my coffee (Philz Ambrosia!) - but drinking lots of coffee greatly increases your chances of colon cancer - especially as you approach your mid 30s. Enjoy that cup a day but learn to like tea too.
